If I slap my slave for refusing to obey a simple instruction (say, run out to the car and grab my bag) that may very well scream ABUSE to you.  Another woman might have the exact same opposite response; it says "He is strong enough to keep me and my bullshit in place."  The only judgment on this account that matters, is the submissive in questions.  She's the one who has to decide how to live with herself.

Perfectly stated as a member of the group of submissives where I had to actually teach and encourage he Master to do exactly the example Stephan used and I have never been told, asked or questioned if I was abused or been beaten down into submission.

Whether snarky, intellectualized hot air or simple straightforward statements anyone who believes in my way is really the only right way and/or thinks that dominants or submissives have powers that suppress or eliminate other human needs and desires along with frailties, will get a beat down when expressing these thoughts in public.

hey you guys, don't throw rocks at me. I'm just refering to the advice doled out to Gwendolyn by those on here in the know. If you'd take the time to read that before knee-jerk reacting maybe you would see that that is exactly the advise given. So go throw rocks at them.

camille65 -> RE: to submit or not to submit, that is my question (9/19/2007 9:05:05 AM)

Do you have the link for that?

Then why are you starting a subject on this and then not reading the replies yourself and then inferring that somehow people on this board for the large part agree with what you wrote?

Your post and replies sure looked like someone baiting others so you can feel superior to them. That may or may not be your intention but you teed yourself up that every message board on whatever topic people are going to respond to this part as well as the actual topic.

ok, so let me get this straight: being a "submissive" means aspiring towards total subjugation with the ultimate goal of being invisible when "necessary"? And the joy is to be taken from the act of serving itself rather than the interaction between you and that man?

This is what I've gleaned from all your responses to Gwendolyn's post regarding "submission vs. servitude."

Couldn't you just hire a Mexican to do that for you?

Not really.

It's about the warm and fuzzy feeling girls get from expressing a natural personality type. One that is eveidently foreign to you.[:D]

Then maybe next time, you clarify that more? Common sense would dictate that starting a thread in the manner which you had done is left yopu wide open for the less then positive responses here. What you interpret as knee-jerk reactions is the honest reactions of the posters here, based upon your misworded OP.

So, you didn't really say...

quote:

Let me add to that, you're a woman, so of course you're a more thoughtful,  introspective, and sensitive dominant. Which leads me to my next point: ladies, in my opinion it is a grave mistake to give a man so much credit as to hand your life and welbeing over to him carte blanche. They'll run your finances into the ground if they're not watched. If you let them dress you you'll end up looking like a drag queen.. I mean, c'mon.

Please explain to me how that is perfectly accepting of 24/7 TPE relationships with a male dom and female submissive. That is exactly like saying "It is a grave mistake to hand your life over to a woman because she will spend all your money on perfume, chocolate and dildos while dressing you up like one of the guys off "Queer Eye". If you don't like TPE because you think anyone in power will abuse the power, that is one thing. But it's a bit interesting when you are only concerned about one gender.

hey, steamy, don't get your panties in a wad.

what was the purpose in starting this thread?  so far you really haven't responded to any of the replies/opinions posted except being snarky to a fellow member whose advice i would accept first before taking yours.

Well, well... Another 'snappy' post from "raunchynotsteamy" And she's getting the attention and the fire she loves so much.

I won't post re the OP because someone already read my mind and posted what I wanted to. Oh well...

Any particular reason you chose to skip over the entry for "manners" in that vaunted dictionary of yours?

Stephann -> RE: to submit or not to submit, that is my question (9/19/2007 11:02:05 AM)

steamy,

I didn't cast any rocks.  I pointed out that you're being rude.  Stop being rude, and you might find others will stop being rude in return.

The fact that you haven't responded to any of the other dozen constructive thoughts in this thread, suggest you'r not interested in learning or sharing ideas; which is fine, there's lots of other people who are.

I think that is the point. She is not interested in anyones point of view and is only here to be rude and arrogant. The only other thread and postings I have seen her make have been insulting and lacking any sense.

Seems more like someone with no interest in the lifestyle and here to stir trouble. Another Jessica maybe

Firstly, the Mexican comment is absolutely disgusting.  I really hope that you were joking and really aren't a racist.

In either case, submission means different things to different people.  You cannot say "Submission is X" and have it apply to everyone.
