I had a few requests on "the other side" for one or two of my Holiday (or Hallowe'en) baked goods recipes. So here, due to overwhelming popular demand (okay, 3 or 4 requests) is a recipe for the best, most easy, tastiest chocolate fudge you can make and ever let pass your lips.

If you make this fudge for someone, they are almost guaranteed to 1) Be your friend for life, OR 2) Fall in love with you, OR 3) Hand over thier life's savings to you (okay, maybe not #3 all the time, but hey - who needs #3 to happen all the time?....)

Anyway - if you want a good easy, mouth-watering fudge recipe, just try this. It only take about 15 minutes to make. And it is very good fudge.

FANTASY FUDGE
(makes 3 pounds)

Ingredients:

3/4 cup margarine

3 cups sugar

2/3 cup Evaporated milk

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 (one) 7-ounce jar Marshmallow creme (you can buy this in the baking goods section of the grocery store)

1 cup chopped nuts (any kind you want - I use walnuts or pecans)

1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

Directions:

Micro-wave margarine in a Micro-wave safe bowl on High for 1 minute, or until melted.

Add sugar and milk and mix well.

Micro-wave this mixture on High for 5 minutes, stirring after 3 minutes.

Mix well, scraping bowl. Then Micro-wave again on High for another 5 minutes, stirring again after 3 minutes.

Add chocloate chips, stirring until melted.

Add Marshmallow creme and Vanilla, stirring until thoroughly mixed. Add nuts, if desired.

Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch baking pain ,or into 3  smaller tin foil pans. Let cool in refrigerator for 1-2 hours (or let cool on kitchen counter).

Very easy to make. Takes 15 minutes, tops.

Now you can either wrap the containers in tin-foil, and freeze (for up to 2 months), or wrap in  tin foil and then again in Holiday wrapping paper and give them away as gifts, or just eat the fudge yourself! Chop into pieces the size you want (if I give away as gifts, I don't chop into pieces first, I just wrap the container up, and let the recipients decide how big to make the pieces, and they do the chopping themselves).

Enjoy!

- Susan

Well you can always make it for Halowe'en instead. If it's chocolate, I say it's an all pupose goodie. Hehe.

Man, that sounds good, but they drug test where I work so I think I'll just watch, and kind of laugh along with everyone else...

It's not a drug. It's just chocolate!! Is chocolate a drug? Too much at once might make you sleepy, I guess. Kinda like Thanksgiving turkey.

I've definitely OD'ed on chocolate before, so it could be a drug.  I don't think it'll ever be restricted though...good thing, too!

HA!  If chocolate is outlawed, a lot more folks may be in prison - me especially, maybe.

FatDomDaddy: You're probably right. It is Kraft kitchens recipe, and I think they were maybe just pushing using margarine because they manufacture and sell it. I haven't tried it using butter instead of margarine (yet). If I try this making recipe before Thanksgiving with butter, I will let ya'll know how it tastes - my guess is even better, yes.

RealOne: A man who makes fudge is a real man, IMO. Really.

Maybe, but for those really into Scat, the sugary taste is a turn-off, hehe.

For a halloween party once, I went as a shitty excuse for a mummy. I had a girlfriend wrap me head-to-foot in several rolls of toilet paper, gluing it down with Elmer's as she went, and then we smeared it here and there and everywhere with fudge brownie mix, and it won me first prize in the contset that night. No one knew who I was all night, either. Fun!

If you have free time to spare then sure that recipe is good.  If you have almost no time there is a much quicker recipe.  It is better primarily because you can make 4 or 5 batches in the time it takes you to make one batch.
So, why not peanut butter, chocolate, dark chocolate, butterscotch and white chocolate fudge?

Sorry Susan don't mean to be walking all over your toes here but there really are easier fudge recipes out there.

This is a fun recipe to play with. Additional ingredients can be melted in or mixed in before pouring. Two different fudges (like chocolate and peanut butter or dark chocolate and white chocolate) can be made and poured on top of each other to produce different effects (try pouring on a top layer before the bottom layer fully sets).

Absurdly Easy Chocolate Fudge (makes 16 2-in. squares)

16 oz. (450 g) chocolate chips
combine
melt
mix
pour into mold
chill to set

4 Tbs. (57 g) butter

14 fl. oz. (415 mL) sweetened condensed milkCopyright 2005 Michael Chu

Absurdly Easy Peanut Butter Fudge (makes 16 2-in. squares)

16 oz. (450 g) peanut butter chips
combine
melt
mix
pour into mold
chill to set

4 Tbs. (57 g) butter

14 fl. oz. (415 mL) sweetened condensed milk

Not meaning to walk all over your toes, sub4hire, it seems faster, and these may taste really great, BUT -  can it be truly be fudge if there is no sugar???

Condensed milk is riddled with sugar as well as the chips.
Problem I've found with the marshmallow fudge is you still have to get to the soft/hard stage.
Once you add the marshmallow the temp drops so low it takes forever to get back up.
Unless of course you turn up the heat and take the chance of possibly burning it.

I've never tried the microwave and never will.  I'd really have to have a good batch rather than take the chance at a bad batch.  A few degree's is all it takes.

With the condensed milk version even for me thermometers are not needed.
