Missokyst -> Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 6:38:09 PM)

I know its not PC to quote someones email, but I figured there was no other way to demonstrate this.  I have been very careful to leave out any trace of a name and cut the email short.

I have two profiles here.  This one I use for posting, and the other I opened up for occasional chat.  This one has my group leader info, the other is very brief, with no profile, and 3 journal entries.  The first entry responds to the many emails I recieved on my first day, as "new meat".  The second acknowleges how the email has slowed to a crawl now that I am no longer new.  And the third is a small remark about please no married men.

So.. I get this email from a guy who has written to me in both my CM names.  When he wrote to me in this name, wanting to meet, I told him I would since as a potential group member, I must meet him before he attends any of our events.  He never wrote back.

He has sent me three emails to the chat name.  One was just a "hi", that I routinely ignore.  The second was a request for a pic, mine for his, which I tend to ignore.  Then today he sent me a doozy that just hit all my buttons.  I HAD to respond to that one.  LOL darn that impulse control problem!

Enclosed below is a small portion:
i have read ur profile and thought over it at length,i wrote u,,guess u felt i was out hitting up a newbie,,not the case,,just seeking new adventurs while in search of the 1 who can deman my full atention. actually to any true dom some of ur remarks are insulting,,u feel as u wish but i am telling u the truth. i am a doms dom sweetie, and since u want to discribe what u think of others allow me to do the same,,,,i would guess ur very unsure of urself because anyone with any self respect would fear nothing once deciding to go down this path,,,

Ok.. why would anyone find that appealing?  I am not (always) a spelling junkie, but for petes sake, be somewhat literate!  My few journal entries must indicate I am relatively intelligent.  Frankly, his emails to this name are what caused me to keep my contact with him only as a list owner.

First contact sets up how people view you in the future.  Is that sort of contact ever successful?  What are your pet peeves and what gets you feeling the need to respond if you are not apt to answer anyone who emails you?

What's really sad is that the junk folder in my email is constantly full of people who spell just like him.  I make the mistake every now and then, and I love comma's for reasons I've never quite fully figured out, but come on... if someone is not at least on the same intellectual level as an 8'th grader I know things would never work out, regardless.

DocRudy -> RE: Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 6:43:08 PM)

I got halfway through his message and nearly had a stroke, so was forced to stop. Did he happen to close out the letter by saying he was going back to school soon?

Sounds a lot like a guy who wrote me on Alt. Heck, I was just funnin' with him but he didnt' get the joke. I ended up with an email a lot like that one only it wasn't so nice.

LATEXBABY64 -> RE: Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 6:45:33 PM)

can see two sides to everything.  A lot of people have trouble with Spelling. It is not a sign of intellectual discourse.
there is just as many educated stupid.  Those that lack common sense oh yeah

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 6:52:38 PM)

Spelling is sometimes a problem, and misspelled words I can understand. But laziness in not bothering to use words instead of letters annoys me.  It is unimpressive and shows me that someone just doesnt give a damn about the impression they make.  And spelling aside, punctuation makes a difference as well. Misuse of punctuation makes you look either clueless or uneducated. Even if you cant spell and for some reason dont want to bother with a spell check which you can easily get at... anyone who has been through at least slementary school has learned to puncuate. Missing a period, comma or whatever is one thing, but something as bad as that is overkill.

Ive gotten some like that as well, if it looks THAT bad, I ignore it, I dont even bother trying to read through.

Damn straight.

Whether or not writing ability is an indicator of actual intelligence, that doesn't matter to me. What does matter to me is that what I'm reading doesn't make me frantically look around the room for the nearest blunt object to take my mind of of the pain.

i'm a spelling freak (being a writer and having a BA in English does that to me) and that guy's message would not only receive a snarky reply back but with highlighted spelling corrections

then he would be blocked

lighthearted -> RE: Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 7:08:07 PM)

I am extremely prejudiced when it comes to spelling and grammer, it makes me wonder what else in their life is as sloppy and unmanaged.

when I actually understood what he was trying to say, well, any time the word "true" appears, it's an automatic strike against them, right up there with "real" and the dreaded..."dominate".

(and yes, I am aware that I begin all sentences with l/c letters, except those that start with "I"[;)])

MadRabbit -> RE: Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 7:08:25 PM)

I can safely say that I have yet to find a profile with "true anything", whether dominant, submissive or switch, that belonged to an individual who I thought even had the remote possibility of being someone I would enjoy having a conversation with.

Prejudiced against the word "true"? Nope

Just coincidently I have yet to find an intriguing profile that contained this word.

In fact, after being a participant of this site for nearly year, I can safely say that anything containing the word "true" in it will most likely be a convoluted and scrambled mess of bad grammar and spelling with intellectual value on par with professional wrestling on television.

I agree with your post, but please spear a thought about the few who English isn’t their mother language. [:)]

Pyrrsefanie -> RE: Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 7:23:14 PM)

Oh my God.  Even if that guy weren't a completely self-absorbed jackass posing as a dominant I wouldn't touch him with a twenty-foot pole simply because he writes like a drunken high-schooler, assuming said drunken high-schooler also was attempting to type with his penis.

Although I probably would have responsed with "OMG r u 4 sexes chats?  20USD kk?"

RRafe -> RE: Approaches that mostly do not work.. (9/29/2007 7:35:06 PM)

 General fast reply.........

I dunno. Iv'e gotten subs that were just a s bad-very dissapointing overall. Especially when they start rattling off the "I do hope you realize that I am sitting on a golden pussy-I'm really STRONG..My GIFT must be EARNED.....yadda yadda yaddda *barf*.

Drop the insecure fantasy garbage you spew to "doms" and just treat me like a human.

Is it really so difficult?
