When he first started this I thought to myself sarcastically what's this skinny 19 yr old guy going to tell these people, and I have to say, I was wrong and I'm impressed.  Jinger's funny, positive and well-written.

oh yeah...question...(shakes the magic8ball....) Jinger will my current relationship interest work out?

I keep tellin em I knows everything, but they don't want to listen! Still trying to figure out if the "don't ask me anything" is an open mockery of what I'm doing. Not quite sure yet.
I get the vibe that my experience and knowledge is being invalidated because of my age, but maybe I'm just overreacting to the title of the thread.

I digress.

All relationships end one way or another. Hate to sound like a pessimist but if someone doesn't break up with someone else then it's either someone moves away, or till death do you part...etc etc.

On the one hand, nobody likes to be lonely, and sex is really awesome. On the other hand, I think way too much emphasis is being put on the "need" to have a boyfriend or girlfriend. There are millions of people out there, and ultimately...boys are just boys. Nothing too special about us, generally speaking. There's always plenty more where that came from.

But to answer your question...

First off, how big is his penis? Ha ha. Just kidding...

I haven't seen your relationship so it's hard for me to say. But if you worry that your relationship is going to end...then maybe it is. But don't get all panicy and actually ask stuff like "do you still like me? Are we okay? Am I still pretty?" That'll only put him on the defense.

I recommend what I said previously on the mother/daughter issue. Observe your relationship, stand back and analyze. Only this time don't be objective, if the relationship isn't making you happy either change it or get out. People think of themselves as too sensitive or emotional when really they're just being in tune with their feelings. So if you're worried? Then you're likely worried for a good reason, don't pass off your gut instincts for mere insecurity. And don't settle for nothing but the state where you are not worried at all.

...UNLESS of course you ALWAYS worry about relationships. If you constantly worry no matter what then that's more your own personal problem than the relationship itself. There are such things as people who worry too much, I am one of those people. If you're like me then you just have to work on relaxing, being mellow and allowing yourself to calm the fuck down.

Let me know, aye?

For being new- you are impressive-  good job!

laurell3 -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 7:27:33 AM)

ah..it's still a prospect at this point and I'm not the "am I pretty still?" type.  It was more a facietious he loves me, he loves me not, magic 8ball question, but thanks.

Well in that case: question hazy please ask again later

subtee -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 8:32:11 AM)

Question: do you smell bacon?

GhitaAmati -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 8:46:30 AM)

One block of 5.0 kg mass is in contact with another block of 3.5 kg mass with the two being pushed along in the direction of large block to smaller block with a force of 50 N on the larger block.
What is the force between the blocks?

A flower pot falls from a window box and passes a 1.8 m tall window below in 0.30 s. How high was the window box above the top of the window and what was the speed of the flower pot at the top of the window?

A ball is thrown down from the top of a 50-m tall building at an initial speed of 20 m/s.
How long does it take the ball to reach the ground?
What is the velocity on reaching the ground?

In an automobile accident the headlamp cover is broken and a piece travels 4.6 m ( in the original direction of the automobile) before landing on the ground. The piece was initially 0.60 m above the road traveling at v0, the speed of the automobile. What was the speed of the automobile when the cover was broken?

subtee -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 8:47:45 AM)

Well sure...those are good questions too...

I'm still wondering about the bacon

GhitaAmati -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 8:55:37 AM)

I dont know about the bacon...I dont smell it curently if thats what you are asking....but if it did happen to be cooking in my kitchen Im sure I would smell it....

subtee -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 9:01:08 AM)

Oh. Okay, thanks. Maybe I'm just having a stroke or something.

MiGTeK -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 9:03:21 AM)

Were i now where i was three years ago, i'd answer your physics questions... I still have a vague, very vague idea of a couple of them. something to do with 9.8m/s/s and not taking into account horizontal wind resistance.

But my head's getting full'd up of electricity know-how now, flight's not as much of a concern as it was when i went to university.

GhitaAmati -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 9:19:55 AM)

I think you are supposed to smell flowers when having a stroke....either that or you are about to have a migraine..some people smell weird things before a migraine. Have you checked to see if your neighbors are cooking anything?

Well..in that case MiGTeK....

A current of 250microAmps through a 4.7 mOhm resistor produces a voltage drop of what?

A particular electronic device uses 100mW, if allowed to run continuously for 24 hours, how many joules of energy does it consume?

What is Thevinins Theorem?

The imdedance at the resonant frequency of a series RLC circuit with L= 15mH, C= 0.015microF and R(w)= 80ohms is?

MiGTeK -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 9:37:27 AM)

Bearing in mind that i'm half way through my second year of this stuff:

v = I x R, therefore: 4.7x10^-3 (assuming you meant milliohms, not megohms) x .250A = 1.175mV.. so not a whole lot. <edit> Oh, wait. you said microamps. That'd make it 1.175 microvolts. my bad.

100mW of power being consumed at a constant rate will result in a total of 2.4 W/h in a 24 hour period, i can't remember what the conversion rate between watthours and joules is, and i'm not going to revert to cheating by checkin on wiki.

I have no idea. Never heard of it.

This one i've covered, but forgotten, and it's not something i do every day. If memory serves, the impedance at resonance is very low for non-resistive components, thus the impedance overall would be very close to 80 ohms.

These almost sound more electronicy than electrickery, but, i guess, it's all very similar... I'm just used to dealing with 240/415 volt and hundreds of watts/amps.

GhitaAmati -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 9:47:14 AM)

yea sorry....most of my stuff is small electronics...although I know enough to wire a house....

MiGTeK -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 9:52:31 AM)

Houses... i know how to, i just don't like doing it much.

Sit me down with a control circuit diagram, some contactors and a roll of building wire any day of the week, though, and i'll be happy :)

GhitaAmati -> RE: Ask me anything (10/18/2007 10:12:13 AM)

so Jinger...are you still sleeping? I havent seen your answer to either the bacon question or the physics question...or the new electrical questions....

Such impatience! Gracious!
Did I not say I would answer every question thrown at me?

Huff!

A girl has to eat lunch and go to classes right? I'm glued to this thread every minute in between but the moment I go away people start asking things. Such scathing irony.

To answer your questions: science, math, calculators.

No I don't. I know I put something in my mouth, and its taste lingers. But I have no idea what it was. Sort of frightening really.

LMAO....sorry..didnt mean to sound impatiant..being more sarcastic than impatient...dont get your panties in a bunch....

So thats my answer? my anwer is to go find a text book and a calculator? Jeesh...whatever happened to instant gratification? grins.....

A train leaves New York at 8am, travelling 60 miles per hour.

At the same time, a train leaves the west coast travelling 60 miles an hour.

What color is the "EL", the trainline in Chicago?
