How do you know you will be safe when you get there?  Remember you don't have the same rights and the same protection in a foreign country that you have in your own.

i dont but i plan to register with the US Embassy upon arrival.

if your willing to go along with that it tells me that your either very gullible or very desperate.

i can be a bit naive and occasionally foolish but far from desperate, a tad apathic maybe.

i have a good idea what i am getting into...  but i havent been in a M/s relationship in real time and i am a bit nervous for obvious reasons. i have an idea of what to expect and He has started giving me rules to learn and obey once there.  And He is paying all my expenses-flight, hotel, etc...  otherwise i am obviously not going.  and i do realize that it is a great leap of blind faith i am taking.  i just needed to get some feedback--thank Y/you all!!

where can i get that Y pass?

Does his mommy know that he is playing Dom and did he tell her to expect you for dinner?

now now...  i've spoken to Him on the phone...  definately not a child

Are you supposed to kneel down in the terminal and wait for him to show up?  "You'll recognize me - I'm the Yank who is kneeling at the luggage claim".  And, if things are not feeling right and you are already doing everything he says before you get the 'safe' vibe...you'd hate to have him pull out a hanky while you were kneeling and ask, "Does this smell like chloroform to you?"

i dont expect to have to kneel the first time i meet Him at the airport...   the rule is when i see Him i am to kneel...  having not yet seen Him how could i be expected to do that?

Or, if you want to save airfare, just drive to Raleigh.

i guess You're paying for my gas?   j/k

When I saw this on the "Recent Posts" scroll, I thought it set knitting in public and figured "Hey, if that's your kink, go for it."

Certainly the voice of insight, going by my own early experiences.

Well, I think you're foolish for calling a man you've never met "Master".

I think you're foolish for other reasons.
Was that statement valuable to you or anyone else?

I also think forcing the public to be a part of your kink is wrong.

Come on. She can kiss in public. Heck, she can even french-kiss the guy in public.
Why on earth should kneeling to him be a problem?

Well, it could be worse. She could be dating a vanilla she didn't know. Again, come on. Safety can go a bit too far at times. Living a little isn't necessarily a bad thing. The odds are good she'll live. For that matter, he's doing the exact same thing. She could be the psycho black widow from hell, tricking doms into letting her into their homes before killing them, stealing their stuff and having a lovely meal with Chianti and, well, you get the rest...

Health,

In my opinion, exposing others that may have adverse reactions to kink in public is just bad taste.

What's kinky about kneeling, unless your doing it naked?

If kneeling is kinky and should be kept out of public places then I guess there are a lot of kinky folks in Britan who kneel in front of the Queen of England and they should all be ashamed of themselves for exposing the public to their kink.  Plus all the kinky people who kneel before the Pope, all the people who kneel in public at altars and shrines and any place they feel like praying.  How dare they expose the public to their kinky ways?  Then there's my slave you exposes the public to her kinkiness almost daily by kneeling in the yard while she works in the garden.  Kneeling is only kinky to people who consider it kinky.  The rest of the world doesn't see kneeling the same way.

Actually, they don't just kneel... they kiss his feet.

Apart from the previous responses, my immediate reaction is do you think it's fair to make other people in public places uncomfortable, if not completely freaked out, by seeing someone kneel before another??

Whether we like it or not, there are behaviours that are not acceptable in public places, even if they are acceptable in private. Making other people feel really weird is not D/s, it's just frigging rude.

I would be very careful about behavior in a foreign country, what's amusing and acceptable to people in various places in the US could be a big mistake somewhere else.

And vice versa...

A gay couple frenching each other will not get nearly the same negative response here as in the US.

Health,
al-Aswad.

Come on... it may be the first thing you think of, but most people I know would think she's proposing, if anything.

You running for pope, or planning a vacation?

The latter will probably be more successful than the former.

Is that an invitation, or a snark?

Come on while I assume there's a relative lack of genius in the average public, they aren't that stupid.  I think they would notice if the pope was actually there, that argument is inane and it won't take long for them to notice it's not a proposal.  Do whatever you all want to do, my opinion is my opinion.  I don't do public play where's it's evident to others and consider it tacky and unfair, if you can get away with it, and aren't uncomfortable with it, by all means be yourselves, but to argue that because people do it to the pope it's ok to do it in a public street is just silly.

Ah, sorry hon, but I've promised my girl no kissing anyone but her.
It probably doesn't apply on-line, though, so here goes:

Health,

Your mileage clearly differs enough from mine that it'd constitute insurance fraud to report it for the same car.

It wasn't my argument, either.

quote:

and it won't take long for them to notice it's not a proposal.

If they stare, that's rude, too. Or so I've been told.
Either way, most people I know don't automatically think "sex slave."

quote:

I don't do public play where's it's evident to others and consider it tacky and unfair,

I consider it tacky to smoke upwind of me, and unfair to let one's kids run around screaming near me.
So I walk off from the smokers, and ignore the running and screaming kids.
There's an example in that somewhere, I guess.

In any case, I don't consider it any different from bowing, hugging or kissing, all of which are acceptable.

We can and have. We aren't. We will be.
