Granted. You have now fixed the world only to find out, rather quickly, that much as it was pointed out in the Matrix humans do not actually seem to like it when everything works in a good way. So they revolt, break down, turn into cannibals and slaugther each other. Down to the very last small babe everyone dies in a horrific way. The world was better off before you tried to help.

I wish I could reach into his chest and root out whatever shrivled up little black lump is in the place where his heart should be.

Granted, the shriveled up black lump has been replaced by a joyful heart. You become so filled with joy that people diagnosis you with a chronic manic personality and have you placed in a psychiatric facility where your a medicated and subjected to weekly shock therapy treatments.

I wish that i had a career that not only paid fantastic but i also enjoyed being there.

Granted, you spend a couple of years as a rock musician, have a wonderful time, make tons of money and generally go wild. Unfortunately someone else makes a wish that rock music had never existed and the whole fantasy falls apart

I wish that my toes were warm enough that they don't feel cold but not so hot that I am in pain

Granted - You are drafted for the Citizens in Space program. The program studies the effects of space travel on your average untrained person in an effort to determine the viability of space flight as a commercial venture and what ill effects it may have on your average passenger. Granted - although you now appear to be suffering from some skin disorder which means that the slightest sun on it causes blistering and can only enjoy looking at the sunny weather from inside.

I wish my toes were warm enough to be not cold but not so hot that I was in pain. (again - because my toes are cold all the time at the moment and it's annoying me <G>)

Granted. Your toes are warm enough not to be cold but not so hot that you are in pain. However, the condition has transferred to your fingers and now they are cold.

granted - relax ... everything you have to do is being taken care of .... by the most incompetent person imaginable and it will take weeks of working twice as hard to fix it all

Granted. You have won the mega lotto and never have to work at anything you don't want to do ever again. However, you lose your sense of purpose in life, sink into a deep depression, and don't even enjoy your winnings.

I wish I could take an Alaskan cruise this summer.

Granted - you're at peace forever and ever but your constant peacefulness drives your family and friends crazy and they start to drive you crazy.

I wish I had central air instead of an air con unit only in my bedroom. It's 85 F in the living room right now.
