If you are wondering why people respond the way they do, consider that there might be more going on than what you see. Often there's several layers of meaning in related cross-posts that I put up; no one catches them, but I enjoy making them nonetheless. Maybe people are challenging you brecause they want a response, an honest [if forced] response to better know you.
That might sound trite, but then again, think of all the Twues and Dominates and Nigerian scammers that even lurk on this site. You can't know who a person is if you don't test them, and they can't know themselves until they recognize how they sound in other ears, reflected back. The sound might be distorted, but then it might resonate with truth, yes?
