I have to say, I'm INCREDIBLY picky on the things that are important to me. I'm picky about age--10 years older or 5 years younger is pretty much my range, in part because (sorry--I don't mean to sound offensive), but younger men are just not at the same place in their lives that I am. But race and looks are not a real issue for me. For me, speed of conversation, intelligence, wit, humor, left-wing politics, the ability to dominate me and still have fun and silliness and affection are all crucial. I also have my share of shallowness--I'm rarely turned on by men who have English as their second langauge. I feel guilty about that becasue I know it is shallow, but I work with a lot of ESL people at work and it makes me start to think like work. It is totally shallow, but it is true. If I could wave a magic wand and not have that be an issue, I would. But my magic wand broke. Now, if he looked like Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing, and spoke like Morgan Freedman I wouldn't complain. But that isn't central to what I need.
