ORIGINAL: MzMia We certainly have different ideas on what the high road is. In this case, for ME, it means not engaging in what will surely be a nasty fight, endless debate, possible very ugly on-line confrontational situation. I don't actually consider the "high road" to be such a lofty place. On-line it can mean, making a short to the point comment, then getting the hell off that thread! IMHO it could mean not stooping to a lower level, or engaging in a sure-fire nasty debate. [;)] I have had to adopt a similar action on threads in the past. Perhaps it was a year or so ago that I read one thread in particular that was highly offensive, racially charged, and instead of blasting off continually, I opted out of the thread. For me that was the high road, and one that allowed me to continue to stay active on Collarme and let the other posters do the same. It saved me from anxiety, anger, and high blood pressure. I was pretty sure the exchange that could have ensued wouldn't have been about communicating or a meeting of the minds, but just endless arguing. I'd make the same decision again under similar circumstances. Why read stuff that puts me in a bad place?
