If you believe in God and the bible, then you have to believe in it all. Isaiah 45:7 7 I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things. This means that all things good and bad, come from God. If you look at it from an eastern philosphy perspective, death is a part of life, and the natural conclusion to life. Whether God had a hand in it or not, apparently her faith and belief did. It all depends upon what someone defines as God. If you define it as a higher power, which could include your moral code and super ego, then it could be that. Nothing wrong with belief, until you try to force it on others. As far as the news story goes, I wonder if some teachers in schools were willing to take police training, and carry a weapon, if some of the killings sprees of the past would have been less? quote:
ORIGINAL: bipolarber Um... if God had been guiding her, couldn't he have had her shoot the jerk in a non-leathal way? Or, for that matter, if he were really looking out for his followers, couldn't God have just made the gunman's weapon jam? Or given the gunman a heart attack? I agree. She's a hero. She did what had to be done... but somehow, I think God didn't take a hand one way or another. If she needs to tell herself that, to cope with what all went down, then fine. I just find the whole thing a tradgedy all the way around... from the gunman who was turned away from the church he attended, to the folks who got killed and wounded, to the families that are left behind to grieve. (BTW, has anyone even asked what it was that made this kid "hate christians" so much? Just curious.)
