It happened to me (well, not me exactly unless there is internet in the hereafter). A Dom friend - young (39), non-smoker, fit and very healthy (ex-Army) collapsed and died very suddenly leaving a wife, 3 children and a secret stash of toys and DVDs his wife found soon after his death - she had no idea of his 'other life'.

Dreadful for her and not the way he would have organised his affairs if he'd had the chance.....

Everyone has *stuff*.............I don't imagine for one second that anyone would be remotely surprised when my untidy wardrobe gets tossed into black sacks. There's a chance that a couple of the sprogs might hang onto my beautiful cuffs and leather collar and also my collection of whips.

This makes me think that I should put post-it's around the house apologising for the fluff behind the cooker......LOL

Anything that needs doing/telling/explaining for the *living-loved* in my life, gets done now, while I'm alive. I'm not about to leave notes, so that they can't even ask any questions. If there's anyone that isn't aware, it'll be because I didn't care enough to tell them. Says it all, really.

At this guitar store I hang out at, we recently had this disussion. "you are found dead in your house, which is worse, your parents finding your gay porn, or your banjo"
We came to the comclusion that anyone can be born gay, but the banjo is a CHOICE!

If anything happens to me, my biggest concern is that several people dear to me find out, so I'm making arrangements to have a trusted, non-kinky friend  make phone calls to those who matter. My career has been such that the local papers would probably give me an obit (as opposed to a paid "death notice"), but not everyone I'd want to know is local.

Morbid thread...but worth thinking about.

I am lucky.  I am living next to some very kinky people and they know to find the key to the wardrobe and get rid of the toys.  I am also moving into a relationship, and he knows who to contact.  My ums won't find a thing.

Exactly.  I was recently just thinking about all the pictures of me on our computer and what would happen to them.  If something happens to Master, I'll be in control of what happens to all our possessions including this computer and I'll take care of things.  When I'm gone, I don't care what anyone thinks of the private things I leave behind.  I believe they will be intelligent and sensitive enough to understand what we did was consensual and not have major problems with it.  Besides, putting stuff in a trunk and asking them not to look?  My sister would break a leg getting to it to see what's so secret.................luci

Sorry to put out a morbid question, but what if you died unexpectedly, meaning a car crash or some other tragedy? Have any of you made arrangements to explain your kink to the people who would take care of disposing of or distributing your kinky possessions?

Yes - my mother knows about the type of relationship I have and the general thing about BDSM.  She knows my owner very well and would have no problems with making sure he got whatever items of mine he wanted.  I also made sure she knew about my body mods just in case anything strange happened - i'd hate for her to hear about it from a doctor or something.

While our families are not seriously in the know about our orientation, they would not be terribly surprised to find such stuff amongst our things.

More seriously we have had several talks in an ongoing discussion about our situation and wishes.  As we are not married and have only lived together a year and a half, we have not taken literal legal steps to ensure rights, but we have made sure that we are in the know about eachother and where things stand financially, legally, medically and otherwise.

My parents both died this past year. I can't hurt them any more.

My brother is the executor of my estate (and he has instructions to let others sweep my place in the event of my demise), but worst comes to worst...he gets $100k for dealing with my ish.

Sad but true - when the shit hits the fan, you have so little control over who sees what. I accept that.

Actually, yes. I believe I have the major part of my estate covered. Some years back, one of our friends had a "Death Party." We all got together, and filled out forms for living wills, and LWAT's... All were noterized a duly filed with the proper authorities the next business day.

As you can imagine, it led to some very interesting conversation over glasses of wine, and the usual snacks... (many of which were "Death" themed as well.)

My Um is my closest relative and he knows what will need to be done and he is also an adult and well aware of my proclivities to a general extent...So I have no issues about how he will handle things upon my demise...Tempting

i'm worth more dead than alive, so if it's just me, everything's cool. If my wife and i die together in a car crash or something, i imagine our parents would be a bit put off by the... uh, roomfull... of toys... but honestly, i'm more concerned about our cats getting fed before they resort to cannibalism.

...fast reply

One of my best friends is an attorney and the executor of my estate.  He knows of my proclivities.  His instructions are to remove hard drives from my computers, destroy them (violently), then replace with new and distribute them to friends and family.  If I die without a submissive in my life, he'll dispose of kinky stuff as well without advertising it.

I'm also a huge pack rat so it would be unlikely my kinky stuff would be found quickly.  It's more likely that the family would just give up and rent a Dumpster and Bobcat and just load everything directly into it.

I'm not widely out to most friends and none of my biological family (only my sister and her family) but I doubt anyone would be stunned by the revelation of my kinkiness.

Honestly, I could care less what anyone thinks about me when I am dead. I would hope that my parents would not be around when I die and they are all I worry about anyway.

I care much more about who is going to get all my great jewelry and handbags that I obsessively collected over the years, I am sure some women in the family will be fighting about that too much to care about my toys.
