Is there any way the govt could be right?

I have been called "undesirables".

TS are often hard to understand.  But that is no excuse to be cruel.

I hate the neocons too.

SeeksOnlyOne -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 12:44:25 PM)

go to myfoxatlanta.com and get the number to call someone there and tell them about this....i would just tell them of the detainment.....i doubt it would do any good to mention the male clothes and such......from a legal stand point, id imagine having a penis makes you a man......

but the rest of this is ridiculous, and as an atlanta native, im sure the news could have it on by 6 if you call them now......ill be watching and hope for a good turn out for stella....

is this the stella i know and adore from this site?

There has to be missing info from this.  I dont doubt Stella is being treated badly. It doesnt make sense.

Yes, it is...

Aneirin -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 12:54:48 PM)

I could understand if someone entering a country dressed as another sex might be a problem with various immigration authorities, especially in the present climate, what with hiding terrorists and such, but for someone to legally enter with the correct credentials and be labelled 'undesireable' because of their choice I find appalling. Especially so in a country where anyone can supposedly be what they wanted to be, a country famous for it's freedom.

'America, land of the free', does that actually mean anything anymore?

Honestly, sometimes I feel the civilised Western World is going backwards, the golden age has passed.

Halley,

I can only echo the sentiments already expressed and my heart goes out to both of you. I'm sure Stella would be an asset to the US as much as she has been a positive force on these boards. She is appreciated very much by me, personally, and I'm very disturbed regarding the actions taken against her. Please keep us informed and if there is anything I can do to help, I shall.

Celeste

Yes this is Stella41b from this site, who a few days ago wrote about how excited she was to be coming here. I contacted the Atlanta Journal this morning.

sexyred1 -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 1:08:43 PM)

This is infuriating. Here in NYC, you would have some civil rights attorneys on the news in hours about this.

ghitaPVH -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 1:23:46 PM)

Ok, yall dont take this the wrong way, cause well..I love Stella to death and I have always appreciated her words...but, as the wife of a MP and a correctional officer, I gotta pipe in for a second.

Unfortunantly, when it comes to any type of incarceration, even if its just a holding cell or anythiung. The governtment has to make a decision to put someone in a male cell, or a female cell. They dont have a third option yet. Maybe someday the governement will spend the money to build a third prision in each state, maybe not. Who knows. Until that time comes, they have to draw the line somewhere. Its a hard choice to make. Everyone I know in corrections hates having to make that decision, but unfortunanlty its one that still has to be made all the time. The Law draws the line at what ever is between a persons legs. They have to. They dont like it. It makes things difficult for everyone involved, but thats what happens. There has to be that line, and it has to stay that way for now. I have a feeling the problem didnt stem from what articles of clothing Stella was wearing, but the fact that her passports and paperwork state "female", when her anatomy still states "male", at least according to the guidelines set out by the governtment. Now, I have no idea what casued her to be put on the list to be held out, it could have been some custom workers personal grudge, it could have been her flight plan or the history of traveling to other countries lately. but once it was determined she needed to be held somewhere, things were going to get difficult. More than likely, the corrections officer who told her to put on male clothes, was probably in their own head trying to make things easier for her. They knew she was going to have to get placed with males, and for her to go in there dressed as a female might have casued problems...so somehow they thought they could fix that by giving her different clothes.

I hope everything works out for her and please keep us updated.

Photographed her penis, demanded she put on male clothing. Denied her medication, until I called the British Consulate for the fifth time.

Please don't misunderstand me; I'm not unsympathetic to your situation.  However, I do have two questions..

1.  "her penis"?  So "she" is a male who claims to be female, yet retains male anatomy, or..?
2.  Were the medications something related to her transexualism, such as hormonal pills to induce a change in her sexuality, or were they for a more conventional medicinal need?

RCdc -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 2:23:03 PM)

CL -
Stella isn't a 'man' in pre-op.  It's not really my place to explain her position but you can read about her life on her website to gain further understanding.

I would also contact the local LGBT media in Atlanta such as Southern Voice, they have a lot of clout!

CuriousLord -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 2:33:16 PM)

I hate to sound like an ass, but that would be a bit time consuming for the extent of my interest.

Simply.. I'm wondering what the other side to the story is.  Not that it's necessarily mitigating, though it is an interest.

Such as, I'm unfimilar with this "Stella".  From the picture-of-"her"-penis thing, I'm wondering if "she" is a male crossdresser.  If so, it's more than just a little understandable that they treated "her" as a man.

Also, taking her "medication" away.. if it's something such as hormone treatment, that makes sense. I mean, body builders who want to use "medication" (not implying illegal; even protein drinks/pills) don't have access to those, right?  (I'm interested in figuring out if "medication" has been used deceptively, or if they police actually did something deplorable, such as denied her medicine needed to control a heart condition or so.)

To some extent, if this Stella is, biologically, male. yet refers to itself as "female".. and has a female passport.. that could certainly be seen as a violation of customs law (as I can't claim I'm 30 on a passport just because I want to.. biological fact is, I'm not).

So, I'm trying to be clear.. I'm not unsympathic to the alleged plight, nor am I accusing it of being a blown up story.. it's just against my nature to make any decisions prematurely as any false assumptions would be likely to predispose me towards an innappropriate belief.  So, I'm just curious, as I can easily see a plausible, radicially different other side to this story.

DarkDaddyZ -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 2:42:29 PM)

While I don't know all what happened to Stella, recently here in San Francisco,  the star (of Arab descent) of a movie about a terrorist who is plotting a suicide bombing (who later decides not to go through with it) was detained for over 8 hours at SFO.  He was here to promote the movie at the Marin Film Festival (the name of the movie escapes me), but sometimes customs is out of control.

Najakcharmer -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 2:44:41 PM)

Holy fuck.  This calls for a legal defense fund and a serious lawsuit.

RCdc -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 2:48:02 PM)

CL - I understand you are curious, but seriously, Stellas site explains her life better than I ever could and if you are really interested or concerned, you would make the gesture to take the time to look.  I don't want to sound crass, but I'm not doing the leg work for you - especially when I have no real way of explaining it like she can and was simply trying to point you in the right direction.

Ah, I didn't realize the answer about the biology was something that would need to be explained.  Perhaps there's more to it than I'm aware of?

How might I find her site?

One more suggestion- try the ACLU.

seeksfemslave -> RE: Stella Undesirable? (12/14/2007 3:07:05 PM)

Sounds like a soap opera to me.
Yes I know I am wicked, but Stella lives off the taxpayer and believes it is right that she should do so.
After all she is a playwrite

The US has a less conciliatory attitude to such members of the glitterati, I am happy to say,
