One can go to www.internetarchive.org and enter www.collarme.com and see every version of the front page since 2002.  Sometimes, i can even see older versions of my profile, which i think is kinda cool.

Sigh, noone said that noone had a right to say anything, and yes Collarme does pay attention to EVERYONE which is why it is impossible to keep everyone happy.  The reason some of us reacted the way we did was the WAY the comments were made.....and, now I'm confused...I still see pictures, are yours gone? They are trying to tweak it, and patience is a virtue, yada yada yada, you get more flies with honey, yada yada yada.....I left this thread but thought maybe I should show that I didnt run from this thread. I still stand by my comments.  We should all state our opinions, but we should all be grateful...that dumb it down enough?[;)]

I didn't catch this posting before I made one on the general BDSM section. I fully agree, it is definitely a bad thing the powers that be have done.....SIGH.

we, the idiots of collarme, thank you for dumbing it down so we can interpret it properly....and the first comment that was more than just an i dont like it opinion came in post #23....then the drama began.....before that it was pretty much please change it back we dont like it....

I actually believe I did say on page 2

"Yesh people they will figure it out, chill."

Which they are doing.  8 more pages of the same exact complaint by the same people didn't cause that to happen, the people running the site did it because as I said before which was refuted by those same people, it's a good site with good volunteers who do NOT profit from the amount of time they put in for US.

LOL, I understand, sometimes no picture is better than one, keeps them from running off so quickly?[;)] Not that of course is the reason in this case, I'm just saying maybe thats the case in OTHER scenarios with OTHER users.[:)]

edited to add: not that it would matter that the same pictures was available at a click on other pages previously.......

i guess i just accept personal responsibility if i choose to post a picture...knowing that not only can it appear in different places on the CM site but all thru the internet as well, without me even kowing it - it is a risk one takes in posting a photo. Therefore, if i don't want to "put myself out there" i should NOT post a pic AT ALL.
 i don't see how a pic being displayed instead of one's name WITHIN the CM site can cause "undesirable attention" when a person has one available on their profile page...
 
Of all the arguements i have read in this thread about the new changes. sexypet's takes the blue ribbon! LOL!!
 
** i would like to add that i used the link that sexypet gave for the archive website and i looked over the prior front pages for CM. i can't get onboard with the argument that the current page  looks less professional. i think it looks good - ofcourse, i don't hang out on the front page much - i like it over here much better [:)]

i jsut used the link sexypet gave and ... wow ... the site has changed a lot... i still think the new front is chunk and i like the way it was before they added the pics.. but untill they get rid of all the bugs or change there minds and decide to useus as beta testers/lab rats.. ill deal with it i guess.

Then let me spell it out for you.  Having my picture show up on lists it never did before has resulted in a 90% increase in contact from male subs from whom i do not desire contact.  They do not read my profile first and if for some reason by accident i viewed theirs, they assume i am Domme and email me.  This is because my user name does not show under my pic in the WHO'S VIEWED ME section.  You know, i chose my name and included 'pet' as part of it, so the concept of my being submissive was OBVIOUS to users, where as seeing just my face isn't.  There is no indication of my orientation, because no user name shows along with no corresponding color indicating orientation; where as users who do not upload photos have the benefit of their orientation being identified right away.  Instead, i am just another face.

It's because now my pic shows up everywhere instead of just my profile.  Unless my profile loaded with the main page, that is.  It invites more correspondence from trolls, who would not be here at all if there even a small amount to pay each month to belong.  But i digress. 

i joined a really long time ago.  Back then, your pic showed up on your profile and that was it.  You could not even use it as an avatar.  i've made some adjustments by using a Halloween photo, because in real life i wear bangs and glasses and the only time i get recognized in public is at the Fetish Flea or Stop and Shop.  The photo i originally wanted to use (and was not allowed to) was the one with the crop under my chin.  People can show just their ass, but i was not allowed to use that photo as a primary.  If that photo was allowed, i would care a whole lot less about these changes because the crop under my chin says i'm a submissive for me.

sexypet has a point.. its harder to see whos what on the "whoes veiwing me" page now.. impossible if u jsut click on the pic. just another thing they need to fix with the new set up.

The other thing that does not seem to consistently happen is that when hovering over an id in WHO'S VIEWED ME is that a person's state does not show.  Just "US".  It's not every time, but it does happen a lot, and seemingly from people just in my home state.  Very strange.

I agree. I'd like an option where i can selectively view these  photos. I should not be forced to view them.

Let's face it, some of the people with photos are have been slapped with the ugly branch one too many times...

General Consensus says that those that don't think anything is wrong with the the other side are those that don't use it or don't use it much....Therefore arguing with them is not even worth the pixels it takes to display it.

Those of us that use the other side have justifiable complaints.  Yes its a free site but without those of us that use that side, its pointless to have it at all.  It is cumbersome, posting the pictures don't enhance it at all, it just makes it less efficient to use. 

I appreciate collarme.com.  I have made many acquaintances here, some that have gone offline.  However, I don't think that they don't appreciate our feedback. 

There are a couple of people here on both sides of the spectrum that have hammered their points home to the extreme.  Ok, we get it.  You have your own opinion and you are entitled to it.  Give it a rest already.
