Noone has to let you stay......you both need to remember that. I have no idea what the owners would do, but pushing one of their top administrative personnel can't be a helpful thing to do, especially when that person is operating well within their established parameters. To make a big fat generalization, one of the unwritten rules of many, many forums is, "don't make more work for the staff." This is usually spelled out as, "we are the final decision-makers on what is inappropriate, and if you do not like it, you can go elsewhere." Your continuing to fight a fight that is not yours to fight is making more work for the staff. The fact that you are doing it "in public" makes it that much worse. I started a thread on one thing, it was going to a different and talked to death subject. I was told "bitchin about bitchin is just well bitchin", and everyone can say or take a thread anywhere they want. Plus all the [pending approval] posts here was what led to my comments. Not just a random hijack. Here's a random hijack... 10 things I dont want to hear if I am having surgery! Has anyone seen my watch? Come back with that! Bad Dog! Wait a minute, if this is his spleen, then what’s that? Hand me that… uh… thingy over there. What do you mean he wasn’t in for a sex change! Damn, there go the lights again… Everybody stand back! I lost my contact lens! What do you mean, he’s not insured? Let’s hurry, I don’t want to miss “Bay Watch” And the number one thing I don’t want to her my doctor say during surgery… Oops!

My Dad used to own a retail store a kabillion years ago (60's - 70's)....he had a rule: "No employees are allowed to smoke on the sales floor (of course, back in the day when smoking in a place of business...including a retail store, just wasn't considered innapropriate)...Dad was on the floor talking to a customer about whatever it was they wanted to buy, Dad's having a smoke...I had a Pepsi and he said "give me that can son". Of course I did, and later I asked him "Dad...you said 'no one can smoke on the sales floor'....you were smoking!!!".....he said "son, I believe in the Golden Rule and that's why I can smoke on the sales floor". Being a fairly intelligent kid, I knew the golden rule, and it sure didn't have anything to do with smoking....so I said "Dad, what's the golden rule have to do with smoking????!!!!" To which he replied...."See everything all around you?" "Yes" I said...."It's all mine...I make the gold here...and I make the rules, now go get your Dad another Pepsi". Made sense to me.
