Status: offline 		Well, they posted his name, home and work address, home and work phone number,  and his email.  So I imagine this guy is going to get punishment enough with phone calls, emails, and possible in person visits.  He might even get some artwork placed on his own car.  Karma is a bitch.

Status: offline 		        This is exactly why I call "Bullshit!" when I hear that 'we oppose the war, but support the troops' line.  How about Chicago charges this lawyer with a hate crime?  How about suing him for civil rights violations?

      I just hope this lawyer is careful about what bars he drinks in, especially if he is enough of a lawyer to have ever gotten his picture in the paper.  Marines might not be real bright, but they have long memories.


      edit:  The POS has his very own website  www. (first and last name) .com.  It seems to be broken right now though.

Status: offline 		I don't really understand the advice he got that it's hard to pursue a lawyer.  Yes, they know about collection and avoiding having assets taken, but they have one big ass big brother in the form of the bar association that babysits bad conduct including debt avoidance.  I'm guessing this guy's fitness to practice would/could/should be questioned based on this incident, however, someone has to complain to them.

Status: offline 		His phone has been disconnected without a forwarding number, so I guess he is getting some attention. The things that piss me off

1) In the police report the lawyer states that the reason these guys (the marine and witness) were harassing him, is because he is Jewish. I never knew you could look at someone and tell. He is playing the victim bullshit, and this should piss off others of the Jewish faith because there is discimination out there, but with people crying wolf and using it as a screen, they lessen the impact of it.

2) Because of the amount of damage, in excess of $2000, this is a felony, but the States Atty tried to get the lawyer off with just paying a deductable.

3) There was a court date, but the lawyer filed for a continuance. The judge should have seen that the marine was due to ship out on 12-31-07, and the continuance was a delaying tactic to wait until the accuser was out of the country.

The initial incident of course pisses my off, and I am so tired of people being an asshat. Just ask the now polite teenageers that live across the street.

Status: offline 		I thought about this as well when I heard about that part. I was rear ended once, and my insurance company fixed my car, then they sued the other guy for full damages, including my deductable. When it was settled they sent me a check for the deductable.

What I can say about him - he’s lucky.....because anyone---not just Marines---who would happen to show up and witness some dork in the process of keying their car, would most likely try to hurt or restrain the guy until the designated policing authority showed up.

I am very surprised that a Jew would do this. First of all everybody knows we are fighting this stupid war for Israel's benefit, and what's more as a lawyer and a Jew he depends on our police, government and military to survive, and indeed since he is a lawyer, to make a living.

The fact that I am risking my life for this fuckhead's bretheren would be enough for me to make sure he makes it to a hospital bed. For a long time.

It's not boiling blood, it is percolating. Someone has the hubris to do this ? Time for a pogrom, or perhaps a mini pogrom just to get rid of this asshole.

If you do some more research, there are some sites that have excerpts and copies of the actual report. Both witness, marine, and lawyer state that the lawyer was making anti-military comments, and that he walked by the marines car and "brushed" up against it. The lawyer says that he did not scratch the car though.

I am sure this marines sargent could have easily torn this attorney a new asshole, but I am sure he remembered all the bad things that may happen to him if he did. So he did the right thing, and what consequence does the atty suffer?

Oh Yes, We (Marines) do have a long memory about things.personally that lawyer is going way to far,if he objects to the war there are other,more reasonable ways to express his distaste in it.but to go as far as messing with a soldiers personal vehicle is way to much.i hope the lawyer gets apt due legal charges for that.that is also hoping karma doesn't get him first.

Are not legally authorised witness statements sufficient ?

Status: offline 		Briefly, I don't think the issue here was 'anti-war' so much as a 'fuck you, asshole.'  The lawyer probably saw the Marine illegally back down a one way street, and got in a huff about it.  That he happened to be a Marine probably just made him more angry - so he keys the car.

The insurance company would be most likely to press civil charges in this case; it's their money that the lawyer claims should be spent to fix the car.

I'd say the fellow's lucky he didn't do that near Camp Lejeune.
