In responce to the posting.  i live in NC, i hear Sir all the time, in and out of respect for the person.
i call my trainer by His first name.  If and when He collars me, i will call Him what ever He wants, including Lord or God.  It is all about respect, but He has earned it too the level that only a very few has ever earned it with me.

RipTyed -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 5:57:41 AM)

Sir doesn't bother me and God is a metaphor.  Ma'am makes her feel old.  Lately young boys have taken to calling her M.I.L.F.
They don't know she knows what that means and she gets off on it. Rock on baby!

Dnomyar -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 7:45:11 AM)

Justme I always smell with my nose. Where are you manners. How come your not addressing me by Lord, God, Master, Grand poo pa ect.

CalifChick -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 8:39:04 AM)

How about Grand PooPoo?

Cali

Dnomyar -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 8:53:08 AM)

Cali in your state seems everyone is called fruitcakes. You should teach them all of the good ones like Lord, Dom, Master ect.

CalifChick -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 9:21:20 AM)

I've been called Babycakes before, but not Fruitcakes.  Well, not to my face anyway.

Cali

ghitaPVH -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 11:06:58 AM)

Im with CalifChick...

Sir is my Knight. I call him Sir on a regular basis. Master is a Laurel. While I respect and care for both of them, there are alot of Sir so-n-sos and Master so-n-sos. Just about anyone anymore is a Lord or a Lady, you can get an AOA in 6 months, less if you go hunting on the weekends with the King. Honorable Lord takes a bit more time, but no one actually calls you that unless you get called up in court.

In the Leather community I use Sir and Master and Daddy alot more frequently, but there, I actually feel like the majority of those people have actually earned that title.

In my relationship, I use the title Daddy. Hi picked it, I think it works for him, and for our relationship, even though there isnt a bit of age play or Daddy/littlegirl dynamic between us. He feels the same way, he's a military man and is kind of against Sir for that reason and the SCA reason (Im not an officer nor have I been knighted, dont call me sir!). I also feel the same way, that I call every male I pass "sir"..raised in the south, just happens that way. Its no longer really special. Daddy just thinks Master is silly honestly...so he has a personal issue with me using it..but Daddy just works for us.

Too many years in the SCA here, although I stepped away from it several years ago.  There, a "Sir" and a "Master" are supposed to be equal terms, but the reality is that many see a "Sir" as higher than a "Master" (even though the Masters would protest vehemently that this is not so).  Also, while I would call someone "Sir" all by itself, "Master" would always be followed by their name.  So calling someone "Master" alone just reminds me of that cartoon where the sniveling guy keeps saying "yes master yes master" (and geez, I'm drawing a blank now on which one that is).

In the same way, "Lord" always takes a name after it, the way "Mister" does.

So, that leaves me being a "Sir" kinda girl.

Java is my shepard I shall not want. It maketh me act bouncey in the morning when I wish to sleep in. It leads me beside throngs of the sleepy and malcontent. It restores my soul. It leads me on a path of perkyness for caffeines sake. Even though I walk through the valley of Decaf I shall fear no Equal. For there is a StarBucks on every corner. Thy cream and thy sugar they comfort me. Surely great taste shall follow me the rest of my days and I shall dwell in the house of Maxwell forever.

~ thats my prayer...

CalifChick -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 12:09:36 PM)

Gwyn, I think that's a record.  22 years.  LOL.  I made a remark to a friend about an "ugly-ass baronial service award" that the worst "artisan" in the group was making (all political crap, doncha know), about five minutes before I was awarded one.  That'll teach me to say snarky shit out loud.

Lady Oriana... uhh... never mind the rest...

subtee -> RE: Sir, Master, Lord (1/22/2008 12:32:26 PM)

I’m pretty sure I’m going to ask RealTuff Dom’s mom to make him collar me, so I’ll probably call him “Sir Ram Tuff” or “Lord Ford Tuff” Master Real…

p.s. Have you seen his splendid and majestic cock? That thing could wake me up in the morning!!!

Daddy is known as the eternal squire....27 years so far as a squire and so far no white belt. He's said that if he was to get handed one now, he'd just hand it back. Dont worry thought Gwyn, Ive no AOA either, although Id love to get one so I have a way to keep my veil from falling off.
