Sweet1Maybe4U -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/22/2008 5:22:51 PM)

i have one collar. Its a thin white gold twisted chain with a yellow gold teddybear that has a white heart on its belly and a little diamond in the center of the heart. i call Him a TeddyBear and it seemed appropriate. [:D] i just LOVE it! When i reach and touch it during the day i think of Him and kiss the lil teddybear..ive been very blessed!
He picked it out Himself. i had no idea i was going to receive it.  i wear it always but have been given permission to remove it if it becomes obvious it will be damaged.
BUT while grocery shopping at Walmart He did stop and take a look at all the pretty dog collars there. We stood there quite a while looking at them and He would smile and hold different ones up to my neck..but He hasnt actually picked one out yet for playtime. He's even more "picky" than i am about it...but i AM kinda hoping for the thin pink one with two rows of "diamonds"  [;)]...but im sure He will pick the thick black one...
im sure He will find one eventually that suits Him. i'll wear whatever He picks.

Although that probably is the point of it.

Katy,
Yup, I think that was the point, at least for us anyway. :)

To the OP
Yes, I LOVE my collars.  I don’t have a traditional collar I can wear all the time. I have the locking eternity cuff and I love the weight of it. It took some getting use to but it isn’t so heavy that it makes it difficult to do things; it is more a pleasant reminder then anything. The weight is also very comforting. My cuff is slightly oval so it is more comfortable then the perfectly round ones.

Mistress says She has my collar picked out and I can't wait to kneel before Her so I may accept the greatest gift I could ever hope for.  I have a style preference, but all I care about is the meaning behind it.  It lets me know I've done my very best and I've earned the ultimate reward.  It will be worn 24/7 and the only time I can think I'll take it off is to pass through airport security.  Those bastards want you damn near naked before they let you through.  Other than that, I don't see me taking it off for any reason.[:)]

Congratulations [:)]

That is a rather interesting thing about my collar- i've been through airport security at JFK, LAX, Heathrow... it doesn't set off metal detectors. Strange, because you could make a heck of a knife out of that much metal, but i'm damn glad of it!

daddyslilgirl87 -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/22/2008 6:11:16 PM)

I was only recently collared in december. It is only a training collar, but it excites me so much to wear it. I know that it is a visual sign that i am owned. However, i am on my way to earning my permanent collar. Master has already gotten it for me, and i think it's because he knows how badly i want it and he knows that it will push me to earn it even faster. My collar is a sign of the love that Master and i share, and my devotion to him. Because of my job, and the fact that we dont live together, i cannot wear my collar all the time... but Master is quickly finding other ways to mark me permanently... ;)

awwwe yay I'm glad that everyone's happy- maybe I'm just to picky or too much of a baby :-p

dawndewdropbaby -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/22/2008 7:43:39 PM)

When I get to wear it, I like it. Makes me look pretty, I think.

~FR~

I love my collar. It's, sort of, a choker. It's a screwdown deal that I absolutely adore. He had His initials places on the front and it reminds me of Him when I see it...I hate wearing turtle necks because it hides it, but it does give me a different look and we both know it's under there.

My advice on the collar you don't like...tell Him. If He insists on it, I would question whether I would want to be with someone who doesn't take my opinions into account. If that is part of your dynamic, fine...but, you seem unhappy with your lack of options and life is too short to be unhappy about a piece of jewelry. Collars mean different things to different people, but in the end, they are just jewelry.

I'm surprised that your collar doesn't set off metal detectors.  That's very interesting.  What is it made out of?

Bound2One -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/23/2008 5:57:54 AM)

Thanks for all of the links in this thread.  We're shopping for an 'everyday' collar, so I had fun checking all the links out!  One mainstream jewelry site would be www.brightonretail.com.  There are some suitable choices on there - the necklaces are nice and chunky with pretty pendants, etc.

It's either stainless or titanium, but i'm pretty sure it's stainless... my only guess is that it's "safe" either because it's implant-grade stainless and non-magnetic, or that the walk-through detectors don't scan for anything that high up on the body. Very surprising with today's bizzaro-insane security, but it's saved me a lot of aggravation!

gypsygrl -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/23/2008 9:14:49 AM)

I asked for a locking collar for christmas, and he had me choose some that I liked and show them to him.  Its made of heavy chainmail rings (combination of stainless steel and chrome over brass) and is very sturdy.  I was going for something solid.  It feels right to me.

rubberpet -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/23/2008 9:48:54 AM)

Dave, I forgot all about the stainless steel and titanium.  I can only wonder what Mistress has picked out for me.  She has it picked out, but it's a surprise.  I don't know what it looks like.  Now, She's trying to find the perfect lock for it.  Know any good places for decorative locks?  Just curious...

Shawn1066 -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/23/2008 10:34:02 AM)

I love my collar.  It's hemp wrapped around a nickle chain with a hematite ring of my Owner's on it.  She made it herself.  The actual necklace part she put on my neck the day she collared me.  It took my breath away.  The ring was added later.

Mine is titanium and has never set off a metal detector, either - airports, court houses, etc.  I've only had to remove it for x-rays and the like.

This makes sense.  I had a pair of glasses that were made out of titanium and I never had any metal detector issues.

SlaveSuru -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/24/2008 7:56:49 AM)

I love my collar so very much.  Master had it custom made for me at Scarbarough faire here in Texas,  at Leather Dreams.  The guy who works there is extrememly nice and very good at making them !  It's a simple 3/4 inch black leather band with an o ring at the front and a sterling silver medallion made especially for it at the coin shop there.

I have these two designs on mine
http://www.quicksilvermint.com/medallions/pages/triskellion.htm
http://www.quicksilvermint.com/medallions/pages/wolf.htm

He chose the wolf because that is the animal he relates with and sees as a sort of spirit animal,  The triskellion because of what it means and also because it looks alot like a highly stylized BDSM Triskelle.  I have actually had people identify me as lifestyle not by my collar but by my medallion!

I love my collar and it's a kind of anchor to me,  when I am scared upset or just missing him I can always feel it's presence on my neck showing me I'm not really alone.

I thought the eternity collars were nice until people starting commenting on how "heavy" they are.  I know that would drive me nuts because I don't wear much jewelry and I would not want to feel the weight of it.  Although that probably is the point of it.

I have seen many people mention the weight but i've been wearing one for 4 months now and i mostly just forget it's there. Doesn't feel heavy to me at all.

they aren't this slave's collars.  this slave wears the collar of Master, of His choosing and preference, depending on the situation/scenario/day or His whim.

Master has fabulous taste and the collar wardrobe He provides is fantastic.

Agreed [:D]

And to answer the actual question.....

how many of you HONESTLY like your collars?

I love mine! But I have a thing for metal. Master showed me pictures and asked if I liked the shiny or the raw look better. I said I prefered the raw look and low and behold that is what he got. I think that if you put in the effort to find a collar that does lock but that you would be happy to wear he will be more than happy to get it for you. He would probably be glad to see you proud of your collar and not trying to hide it under turtle necks. Show that you are willing to abide by his rules and put in the effort needed to find one that suits his needs as well as your wishes and I bet things will be fine.

I personally like this one. Dainty, but it still locks. And it's on sale!!! [:D]

PrizedPosession -> RE: Do you like your collar? (1/24/2008 7:48:03 PM)

Master got me two this weekend when He visited one is a big leather one with spikes on it and a O. It isn't for everyday use because He didn't realize how big it was compared to my neck (He wanted it to be a surprise).
Then while we were out we went to the pet store and got me a different one that could pass in everyday situations, it's a kitty collar (goes with the bobcat idea) and it has a bell and a tag on it. He  gave me an option of which one i wanted and we tried them on. i absouletly love it and He couldn't have gotten a better one to match my personality.

i understand what You mean about the small jewlery though, when we were looking He leaned to bigger ones (like the one i wear when He is here and He puts on me) it makes me uncomfortable because the leather is new but it makes Him happy :)
i'm sure He will make a good choice for you if you let Him know your preference.
GOOD LUCK
-bobcat

I love my collar , but I fear that it means more to me than Master. It is actually a bracelet. I never take it off.
