greetings sailingbum, maybe i'm just weird, but i read all the little papers and consult the pharmacist and all of my doctors and i give my entire medical history if i have to to feel comfortable, but that's just because i have (almost) every chronic medical problem known to man ;) so i'm used to being shuffled around to different doctors and stuck on different meds at every opportunity. greetings ownedgirlie, i haven't noticed a change in my migraines since i started the pill, thank goodness. they come and go in severity - for the last two weeks or so i've had a headache all the time, at migraine level half the time, but then i can go for like 6 months and only have 3 or 4 in that timespan. i'm sorry to hear of your difficulty with the pill...i hope everything is okay now and there were no lasting effects from your reaction. generally, though, i think what bothers me and made me react so strongly is the fact that most doctors really don't, in my experience, think things through or advocate for their patients. i have one or two amazing doctors, and the rest of them i do all their thinking for them, LOL. my options are limited so i deal with what i have available. based on kitttty's previous posts and the fact that i deeply suspected weight gain was a deal breaker for her master (her lsat score was, so weight gain doesn't surprise me, to be honest) made me worry, because i worry for her that she will end up going on the pill without investigating the consequences to please him and often if we don't do it, no one does (i know my doctors usually don't). her master, from what she has said previously, does not seem like the type to care too much about the consequences. so that is why i don't look at this from the perspective of, "everyone else is doing it, why shouldn't she?" greetings kittty, why is it that if he gets a vasectomy, you are out the door? his choice or yours? have you talked to him about the possibility of your gaining weight and whether that affects his decision to put you on the pill? i have a similar experience with medication, and there are just some things you cannot control. i tried all sorts of different things when i first started the pill to deal with the weight gain, but my body was determined - and then in time some of the weight came off. my master has never held it against me because he knows how my body is and it was his preference that i take the pill. has your master talked at all about how you two will handle it if you do gain weight on the pill? respectfully, annabelle.
