A lot of companies used (and still do) land mobile radio (aka "two-way radio") in addition to pagers. Fer my two cents worth, I remember ads for direct-dial long distance. When you checked out a book, that little machine sounded like rifle shots echoing through the quiet library when they stamped the return date on the other cards. The card catalog had little drawers with index cards. Medical equipment like syringes and needles were sterilized (hopefully) and re-used. (Ugh) A real rabbit actually died when they had a positive pregnancy test.

I remember ... football before million dollar contracts. I remember ... School House Rock. I remember ... The skywalk at the Hyatt Regency collapsing. I remember ... pop rocks. I remember ... John Lennon being killed. I remember ... Heavy Metal and yes, Fritz the Cat.

There was another product similar to it that you shook up, and it would settle in three layers. I think the bottom was pudding, the middle was mousse-like and the top was whipped cream-like, sort of. It didn't last long. A few more..... Jonny Quest For people in the Cleveland area.....Ghoulardi, the Gene Carroll Show and Polka Varieties. Little kids stood up in the back seat while in the car, no car seats then. Even if the car had seat belts, you just stuffed them down between the seats so they were out of the way. Cheerleaders wore saddle shoes, bobby socks and skirts below the knee. A burger, fries and milkshake at McD's was under $1.00. And they had real golden arches.
