I remember ... candy cigarettes and no one questioning me picking up a pack of Tarytons cause they knew they were for my dad.
I remember ... bell bottoms and the swish swish when I walked wearing cordoroy (sp?)  ... the first time around. I actually remember looking around for the source of the sound the first time I wore them before I realized it was me!
I remember ... the sears catalog, and what a big deal it was to look through it and make out our wish list.
I remember ... green machines and rock'em sock'em robots.
I remember ... The Sony & Cher Show, The Donny & Marie Show and Captain & Tenile.
What an excellent way to spend a lazy Saturday !

Chilly Billy Cardille and Chiller Theater.  Although it may have just been a local to Pittsburgh thing, not sure it was ever in syndication.

oh yes, sundays in cleveland for me were one gramma's house for lunch with polka varieties blaring in the living room, then dinner with the other gramma and the whole other side of the family with wild kingdom and disney afterwards.  how about don webster and academic challenge?  dick goddard and the start of the wollybear festivals?  superhost?  we had a guy in an old cleveland press delivery van who used to sell fresh fruit and veggies from the back during the summer.  the cleveland zoo before all the wonderful improvements they made, remember that awful ape house next to monkey island?  mayor perk and the flaming hair?  when the cuyahoga river caught fire?  the old cleveland stadium?  the health museum with the see-thru lady?  they tore down the fulton road bridge over the zoo this past summer, that death trap!  it will be interesting to see them rebuild it.

I remember when it still snowed in Tennessee.

I remember the snow storm of Jan. 2003 OMG..cars on the side of the road..for miles..people venturing out of their homes to give the stranded coffee and hot coco. I had two cars slide into my own yard. Bad time.

I also remember the tornado that touched down in downtown Nashville, the spring of 1998 I lived in Bethpage TN.

The Watts Riots. I lived there at the time. The only white people in Watts. My mother always did have a sense of humor.

I remember when there was no Nintendo (barely), which is a big thing considering how much home video games changed the way kids grew up.
