Ok...Ive got a simple question to anyone willing to speak about it.
Is it really wrong, for a Dom to want to know the first name of the sub/slave he is speaking to?...It doesnt have to be the first email or two, but isnt it logical, normal, and common sense to know who you are talking to after a few weeks?

Opinions and thoughts..please

First names are a no no.

Sorry.

Bitch, cunt, whore, slut...those are proper forms of address.

Uh huh.

It sounds normal to me (wanting a first name).  Maybe she's just not into you.  To be blunt, your screen name would put me off in a big way.

If a few emails prove to be a good exchange of information ,  and both parties feel comfortable - then yes , I like knowing someone's name and am happy to reveal mine .

After a few weeks I think I would feel a bit uneasy if I didn't know their name. Now if it is just casual chat over IM or in a chat room I consider that to be a bit different, but if beginning something or moving towards that then yes I would want a first name. It took me a very long time to tell R my first name lol, I was super shy so I am a wee bit hypocritical!

Would you think age has something to do with this also?

I think it is fine to politely ask the name of your potential sub after communicating for a few weeks. In fact, its only natural to want to know his or her name. Of course, as IrishMist pointed out, there's nothing wrong with addressing her as slut, whore, bitch, cunt, etc...

Personally, I prefer "tits." It's funny!

What does age have to do with knowing how to say to someone 'what's your name'

"tits" is always a good one to use.
Ive found, alot of the women in the Philadelphia area, sub or slave, are just about instantly turned away in the beginning if bitch, cunt, whore, slut are used directly at them.

age, meaning someone 10 years younger , and perhaps immaturity is a part of there reasoning for not wanting to give a first name....I was told by one, its for a certain amount of security.....doesnt jive with me

Hm... I admit to being turned off to, "Hello bitch, bow before my greatness and suck my cock!" e-mails within early communication. Still, I live in Pa, and love being called names - slut, whore, bitch, cunt, fucktoy, cumslut, etc, etc (I need to make a list). Am I a minority?

If they feel that those names are too harsh, why not try "girl" or "pet" - even "toy" is fun (I like "fucktoy" a lot). Still, they should know those names are a little par for the course unless they voice objection to it.

/sigh

apparantly, the age he has listed on his profile does not reflect his intelligence level because he is sooooooooooooooo totally missing the point of what is being said here amidst all the VERY LOUD sarcasm.

Oh well; I refuse to translate for someone who is incapable of understanding the most simple of things.

Even my Dom calls me Cali, not my real name. I've gotten faxes at work addressed to "Cali" and they get to me. LOL.

Cali

Allcats..honestly, considering where the sub has put her posting, I would think, knowing these terms, and them being used for them, would be expected. However, in reading many of the postings, several immediately say, do not use these names on them for blah blah reasons...so, i wouldnt say you are in the minority per say, just in the right crowd...lol....
