i thought about posting this in the Gorean section, but as i'm clearly not gorean i was afraid i'd offend someone. Can anyone explain to me the difference between BDSM and Gorean? And why do Gorean's find it so offensive to be connected to BDSM? Thanks, Kali

Both groups seem to respond in a pissy way..no matter what happens. Like 2 football clubs competing. I think personaly the gorean setting is more voilent....fight to survive ..honour is earned...protocols...which means you do have to do soemthing before they accept you . Females are property in the gorean world....so those have it way harder. One of my first posts ended in war in the gorean forum...because I can't shut up...my first week on CM ended therefor in a discussion with a mod. Same happened here when I didn't agree with the a group of "more post users". SO I guess we are all humans...we like to fight and disagree.

I wish I could explain this. I have yet to voice my thoughts on the Gorean ways in this forum because I have no desire to deal with the flaming fallout I am sure would follow. I'll leave it at I just don't get it.

Somehow I always think people are afraid to respond to goreans...but do respond to other difficult questions.. IS that just a feeling I have or is it true?

Honestly, I could never understand either. I did the Gorean slave thing for awhile. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't fulfilling for me either. Being told "such and such isn't becoming in a kajira" so many times pretty much taught me that I wasn't becoming AS a kajira but from everything I saw, BSDM is very much a part of many Gorean Master/slave relationships. They just don't seem to like it when you say it outloud ...

I'm sort of with MissAiden...I know what I think the difference is, but I'm pretty sure it's an opinion that would just piss lots of people off.

Goreans are followers of Al Gore, Al Gore was very anti BDSM but he did take the romance of it and created a universe we now refer to as 'The Path'. Normal discussion is not possible. So the above post just ruined the remark that goreans are reacting weird. ohwell

In the past when I have posted in a Gorean forum or been in a Gorean chatroom...or just around anyone who is Gorean, and have spoken my mind there, I have virtualy had my head cut off. I agree that they tend to get mean, or defensive or downright nasty if you say something they dont agree with. ESPECIALLY if you happen to be female.

I don't fear them. Its just that ... If you piss off enough Goreans, it doesn't matter what you say. Its like talking to a brick wall ... Only its a brick wall that lashes out and bites back. Sometimes they can be downright cruel and if you should happen to actually get hurt by some of what they say, they just get worse. Its cause they're so strong and all ...
