Trying to tell me what I can and can't do and threatening to hospitalize me against my will. I have to see my doctor again Wednesday...he's the one who put me in the hospital last time...I passed out again last week and I was stupid to tell my nutritionist about it...I thought it might be like anemia or something and I could take iron and be done with it...but she wanted me to see the doctor...he'll probably do all kinds of blood work, electrolytes and everything...I was doing pretty well when I had a Dom but I'm not even about to give up control of my food and stuff to a doctor. *sighs* I wish I could just stop going to the doctors completely...it's not like they even help me...they just make it worse...

i don't know what kind of response you were hoping to get by posting this here, but i'm pretty sure it's not what i am going to say...

do what the doctors tell you to do, they are trying to save your life...

Let me guess ... You're overweight and you hate it so you're trying to eat as little as humanely possible to get that weight off?

I've been there ... It screws you up. If thats not what's happening, forgive my assumption but the tiny details you're offering kinda scream eating disorder.

Doctors don't care to "control' your life ... They just want to save it.

I've been bulimic for nearly 12 years...I go through periods of restricting calorie intake and binging and purging...I also restrict water intake and abuse laxatives/diuretics and stuff...last time I was in the hospital they were worried about kidney failure but they haven't checked my levels in a few months...don't know how good/bad they're doing right now.

Unless something has changed in New York, doctors can't force anyone to undergo hospitalization unless there is evidence that they present a danger to themselves or others.

I've only been over weight for a few years now...I was thin...but then my thyroid messed up and it took the doctors two years to do tests to find out and I gained 170 lbs in the two years...I'm losing slowly now...I don't think my levothyroxine dose is high enough though...I need to get it checked again....

Well, there's your problem.

Bulimia will kill you in all kinds of fun and exciting ways!

My personal favorite is when the stomach finally explodes after all the torture its been put through. You see, when you purge, over time the muscles and the lining of your stomach become weaker and weaker. Eventually it just can't take anymore and it quite literally splits open, spilling the contents into the abdominal cavity.

Cause of death? Toxicity. It isn't quick. Its horribly painful. Its ugly.

Look, I know eating disorders are hard to overcome but frankly, unless you relish the thought of dying, you gotta listen to your doctors. I struggle too ... And there are times I'm convinced that they're just a bunch of control freaks who have NO idea what I'm going through. I also know that if I don't listen to my doctors, I will die. And it will not be pretty.

Thyroid problems suck. Being fat also sucks. Dying sucks worse though ...

Since this is the internet I'll let tacts take a back seat.

How are you doing financially?  Can you afford psychotherapy?  Do you have medical insurance of some sort?

not even doctors (the kind with medical degrees that are practicing medicine) treat themselves (at least not sane ones)...so quit it...from one person with an eating disorder to another - do yourself a favor, go to sleep...right now you are probably driving yourself crazy trying to figure out what is wrong and how you could possibly fix it...and log off the medical sites, even if you don't go to sleep...if your thyroid meds are off, the doctor will be able to tell...the nutritionist does not have a vendetta against you...if you can't get in to see your doc right away do something good for yourself each day, a manicure, a walk in the park, going to a museum, a really good romance novel, whatever it is you can do that replaces the obsession...because if you don't replace the negative behavior with a positive behavior the negative will just seep back in...

take care
chelle

*fast reply*
I know this girl from the Literotica forums, she has numerous mental and physical issues.  People have tried to help her over there but she never listens.  I am sorry for her but she needs to get off her butt and listen to her doctors

You probably don't know me, I don't post much on the GB.  I'm known as Bandit58 on Lit.  I have read a few of your threads though from when you posted on the BDSM forums, a few months ago now.

bleusparkles: and you forgot to add: being in a vegetative state for years. My understanding is that the Terri Shiavo who made news from a few years ago because her husband wanted to remove her feeding tubes, thus allowing her to starve/dehydrate to death, went into cardiac arrest as a result of a bulimic lifestyle. (although, like almost everything, there is some debate about it)
