Out in our neck of the woods it was a result of the treatment many of those in TNG received when attending established munches. Hearing their stories we don't blame them. It is ridiculous, but it is a fact. There is no worse proponent of 'one true way' than a person who feels 'left behind' by a new way by a young 'whippersnapper'. There are always going to be 'cliques' both real and perceived. People of the same age do have more outside interests in common than people across generations. beth and I sometimes 'forget' (early onset Alzheimer?) that we're too old to participate in some things for a long time - do so anyway, and wake up the next morning with our bodies reminding us. Remember, often munches are a launching point, not only of relationships, but casual encounters. They are also places to invite and/or get invited to club functions or private parties. Consider the situation, accepting such an invite from a group with members across a wide variety of ages, puts you at risk of seeing a naked 52/42 year old couple! Being 32/22 who would want to see that?! Would would want to be seen by that!? "The Horror!, The Horror!"
