Aneirin -> Moderators (3/12/2008 9:54:15 PM)

Moderators, those that police this site watching out for all of us getting out of hand and  attempting to correct our ways. They are volunteers, people who like this site and wish it to continue and do what they do in their own free time.

They are not ogres, but people, and people doing a good job.

I think it is time we all gave them a round of applause and a big sloppy kiss to let them know they are appreciated.

GreedyTop -> RE: Moderators (3/12/2008 9:58:27 PM)

*applauds them* (even if I did get modspanked today..LOL)

domahpet -> RE: Moderators (3/12/2008 10:02:21 PM)

ive been modspanked twice for things that are not agains the TOS
ill save my applause

Owner59 -> RE: Moderators (3/12/2008 10:03:28 PM)

She has a huge work load right now w/ tons of posts to review.

We`ve been naughty.

Thanks Mod 11

GreedyTop -> RE: Moderators (3/12/2008 10:21:15 PM)

I admit guilt (albeit with provocation).. but I do appreciate what XI does, and I certainly wouldnt want her gig, wading through all the crap on the boards...

popeye1250 -> RE: Moderators (3/12/2008 10:39:36 PM)

Thankyou Moderators 2, 6, 7 and 11.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Moderators (3/12/2008 10:42:58 PM)

With al the bitching and moaning about the Mods overdoing the modspanking on occasion, I prefer to be a tad overpoliced than underpoliced and letting the boards run amok.
So, regardless of if its biased or not, I apreciate the time and effort they give to things here, since it is their own time. Volunteers to make things better for us, even if some dont like it since they have been on the wrong side of the stick on occasion.

These boards are absolutely Tame compared to some I've been on.

cjan -> RE: Moderators (3/12/2008 11:17:15 PM)

I appreciate the work the mods do here. I think this is a very well designed and well run site. Thanks to all involved.

However, *evil grin*, I am a bit of a sociopath and hate authority, unless, of course, I'm getting or giving the ass whipping. Go figure.

I also dislike asskissers, though.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 4:43:11 AM)

I've seen some Modspanked and Moderated for things that others werent spanked for (the same things). So until things are fair and impartial without any personal bias being brought to the table, I can not applaud.

kittinSol -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 4:55:54 AM)

Life isn't fair - get over it. I've been told off for things when others were seemingly going about their merry aggressive way. It's a question of humility; if a moderator gets pissed off at you, it's for their reason, and if you accept that at the first warning, you're unlikely to be pursued by them. I don't think they act out of personal vendetta: they aren't posters, after all.

cjan:
I don't necessarily dislike them(everyone likes having their tailpipe tongue polished occasionally) but I do wish they would use a little Listerine after they are done.

Yeah, Al, I make a couple of assumptions, because guess what? I am not in the skin of a moderator, which is why I used the words "seemingly", "unlikely" and "I don't think".

Or... am I? [sm=evil.gif].

I've been asked to stop on numerous occasions; and so I complied (sometimes begrudgingly, because I felt it was unjustified). I can't speak for other people, but I understand that to get excluded from the site, you really have to go at it.

As thedark. pointed out, this is a free site, with free security - I'm not going to complain. Hopefully, trying to exert as much self-discipline as my "drama-loving" personnality will allow me to [;)] will enable me to continue enjoying this playground without too many hiccups.

IrishMist -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 5:54:58 AM)

~FR~

I have been slapped, spanked, gagged, and beaten by the mods more times than I care to count; sometimes for a blatant disregard for the TOS; sometimes for something that I did not think needed to be moderated...all in all though, it really does not matter. This is their site; it does not belong to me...if they want to slap me for something, they are well within their rights to do so; just as I am well within my rights to leave and go find another site.

Personally, I think the Mods have a shitty position here; there is no way for them to NOT be condemned by someone; no matter which stand they take on an issue. I think they make their choices very well; and while I might bitch and moan over somthing that I feel is biased; I still have to applaud their reasons for doing what they do.

Does anybody find that as ironically (ironicly?) funny as I do?
