Words are words to some, materials of communication, but art to others.

RealityLicks -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 8:33:36 AM)

Not in the words but in their meaning does true power lie.  Forget that do I when sorry for myself I feel.

RCdc -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 9:04:17 AM)

Damn it I think I took the wrong turning in coming to CM - now I am in the clone wars.[;)]

I've seen some Modspanked and Moderated for things that others werent spanked for (the same things).

In all seriouslness luscious - how do you know people aren't spanked for the same things?

And as a fast reply - its a free site if ya don;t like the way it's run - second door on the left I believe.

Just because someone disagrees does not mean they should exit the site. Just as in politics, I am allowed to disagree but still maintain levels of respect. just because I do not agree with rules does not mean that I dont follow them. My opinion is mine, others is theirs. We all dont have to get along and sing Kumbaya. We do have to follow the established rules. Too bad they are so hard to keep up with sometimes.

Edited to say, I have seen people put on moderation for something that a few weeks later someone else did. They took the same action and were not put on moderation.

Haven't you fought that battle already [;)] ?

Well yes I have and dam proud of it too. [;)]
I am also proud of the fact that I can follow the rules set up even if I dont like them. I can even recognize when the Moderator is doing her job impartially when posters are attacking an OP that is attention seeking and annoying. Its very easy to attack people here, but more difficult for some to stop feeding the animals at the zoo. If you feed the animal, it will continue to beg.

To stop watching the trainwreck is learned. You know what I mean?

i flirted with mod 11 yesterday in a thread but she deleted that msg LOL!

I think I know what you mean... it's about shutting our gob before going too far. A bloody useful skill, I agree.

kdsub -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 10:24:26 AM)

So far...thank heavens.... I have not had a run in with moderators so I can't comment directly. BUT what I have found are good kind people willing to help you with site problems...I will mention one...hope it is ok to do so...kc692... On more than one occasion she sent me information that has helped with a few problems I was having. Of course I thanked her then and now. It makes this site enjoyable and interesting.

Possibly because the second person listened the first time around, and didn't persist in doing things "their way" as your friend did?  Also, safe to say the second person didn't sneak back on the boards not one but 3 times under other user nicks made up that I alone am aware of.  Kinda hard to make friends and influence people with that behavior, and kind of hard to make the moderators or the administration of the site want to give that poster a second chance, when they continuously try to circumvent the rules.  Gotta give the site credit, they are never very successful for long.[;)]

IrishMist -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 11:16:27 AM)

You know, I have had some very serious run-in's with the moderators; there have even been a couple times that I have told them to go fuck off.

It still does not matter though. In the end, the only thing that counts is that

this is their site...it's not mine...and if I DON'T LIKE IT OR THE WAY THAT THEY  MODERATE IT...THEN I CAN BLOODY WELL GET THE FUCK OFF THEIR SITE

that's the bottom line. No one...ABSOLUTLY NO ONE...is forcing ANYONE to stay here and be subjected to what THEY feel is biased moderation. And that includes me, you, the person next to you, and the person next to that person. We have the means to go somewhere else if we don't like it here or we don't like the way the site is run.

It's that simple. End of story.

Jeffff -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 11:35:21 AM)

 And a heartwarming story it was...[:D]

Jeff

Who has exchanged an email or two with a Mod or two..:)

kdsub -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 11:40:12 AM)

I've always wondered at the true purpose of a site like this. The moderators may not make money but I'll bet someone is. It may not be a lot but still there must be a profit... we will never know for sure. So in that respect we are important to the site..in a way it is ours because without our support...and clicking those sexy little links... I don't believe it would be here.

So we do have something to say about how things are run... if in no other way then just not being here to see the advertisements.

You have no idea what I am referring to. Also,why are you airing information like this and how are you privy to it?

domiguy -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 11:45:56 AM)

Who are these moderators that you speak of?

kittinSol -> RE: Moderators (3/13/2008 11:47:17 AM)

I think pretty much everybody has a pretty good clue of "what" you were referring to - but what's the point? It's a dead horse.
