Thompson, vacccine A has nothing to with, and does not make the claim that the USA created the AIDS virus to kill off blacks.

The only people trying to silence others are those demanding that the Pasors words not be talked about.  Wright can say anything he likes, and it can be commented on.

The idea that Obama never heard about his pastor preaching that 911 was deserved and was chickens coming home to roost, says Obama is an unaware fool, and kind of a dim bulb. Or a liar.

lucky:
Since you seem to be making a "left handed" claim to have read "Vaccine A" perhaps you might tell us what it is about.
All my posts here in this thread have been about the truth of what the preacher man said...so far not you nor anyone else has been able to cast any doubt on the veracity of his discourse.
So if what he says is true why the outrage?

thompsonx, do you have anything besides watered down insults and ad hominem attacks to offer?

celticlord:
Which of my post do you find to be "ad hominem"?  Ad hominem means to attack by appealing to ones prejudices and not addressing the issue.  I have asked repeatedly for you or anyone else to tell me of something that the preacher man has said that is untrue.  How is that ad hominem?  It is quite clear to the most casual observer that I am arguing the exact opposite of ad hominem.
Whom have I insulted either watered down or full strength?  If being asked to defend your position is an insult then perhaps you need to have a more defensible position.
If you cannot defend your position then perhaps your position is indefensible.
So far no one has been able to point out anything that this man has said is not true.

This goes to show how well some people can perceive reality...It is why most of luckydog's posts are not taken to seriously.

Why do you spew such nonsense? How do you know that some perfect lil' subby is not hanging on every word that you utter?...Just waiting to submit to your every command and desire...Then she reads this drivel and ends up blowing me....It's a human tragedy of epic proportions.

You are going to be proven wrong once again....Are you really epach or Epgad or some Ep name?....He was a charming and extremely likable lad....Did you two attend the same finishing school?

Well this a referendum on the war on terror....At least he is staking a stark and bold position. Remeber he is going to sit down with no conditions to talk to our enemies.  Of course that is part of the referendum, are they our enemies, or should "God Damn America" and bring those chickens home to roost..  Clearly that is the position taken by SOME on these boards and SOME Obama supporters.  And we are seeing the Partisan Democrats demanding to silence the conversation...

Please show me the religous nut that is Mc Caines personal Spitirual advisor, who he has given 5 figure donations to?  We need a specific name here...Oh wait, there isn't one.

Obama will be dropping out within a week.  We haven't even gotten into what his Spiritual advisor says about the Jews and Isreal.

After you alienate the Jews, you have no chance as a Democrat.  But its ok, Lieberman will help them feel comfortable, along with everyone else who thinks Ferarro is being treated ridiculously.  Or who thinks we actually do have a fight with radical Islamics who want to re order the world, despite differences in strategy.

"Please show me the religous nut that is Mc Caines personal Spitirual advisor"

McCain, with Parsley by his side at the Cincinnati rally, called the evangelical minister a "spiritual guide."

Done.

Pardon me if this has already been posted.

He`s no Jack Kennedy(dan quale[:D]) but he`s just as intelligent and well spoken.

Just claiming you're right doesn't make it so. Nor does my doing so make it true; guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

The posters here rarely shy away from any issue.

I think what you may find, is that you are getting no response, because most would see it as your obligation to put forth some evidence supporting the accuracy of these statements, in advance of asking for debate to disprove them.

Throwing something out there, and insisting that people should prove it wrong, is a questionable and transparent tactic.

I have thrown nothing anywhere.
I am getting no response because,as I have shown you on more than one occasion, it is not possible to rebut the truth.
All of those who have said that the preacher man is wrong have offered no rebuttal to his claims.  Rather they seem to be quite upset at his statements of self evident truth.  They offer no rebuttal to his assertions.  All they can do is wring their collective hands and stammer hhhhhe sssssaid .....
All the preacher man said was the truth.  If you feel your competent to discredit the validity of his statements then please feel free to post.
If you will simply check my response to Level you will see my rebuttal to his assertions.

The Jewish population accounts for .2%.  Atheists account for a damn sight larger share, and no one cares about offending them, so ...

Obama isn't going anywhere anytime soon.  I think he's still most likely to be the next president.

luckydog1 -> RE: Interesting Quotes from Obama's Pastor (3/16/2008 11:24:47 PM)

Thats not really accurate Tracy.    Its 2.2 %, but they are concentrated, and a very important block for the Democrats.

I heard Obama described today as a Rorschach test : You're shown an inkblot... and you're asked to project on this inkblot, what you think it is....

Obama is a blank slate, on which you are invited to project all your aspirations.... [8|]

Why the cheap editing of  my question.  I asked for his Personal spiritual advisor, whom he would give 5 figure donations.  Not a spiritual guide that he is attempting to get votes from.  Mc Cain did not get Parsley to baptise his  kids or spend 20 years in his church.  Or give Parsley a 5 figure donation to help spread his word.

thomp,
The "truth" behind Reverend Wright's anti-USA diatribe isn't the issue. The goal for Senator Obama is for him to be elected. The Senator's 20 year affiliation and his verified support of the Church economically and philosophically is the reason for the Reverend's notoriety today.

"God Damn America!" will be played daily until November. It will be referenced by Senator Clinton and if Senator Obama prevails in Denver, it will be played more often and louder until November. Coming out of the convention, there will be a 'Kum Bah-Ya' moment. Senators Clinton and Obama may even end up on the same ticket. However, the Reverend's rants will remain campaign issues.

As a side note, Senator Obama is distancing himself from the Reverend. I see that as a mistake. Better to take your position and debate the "truth" than to seem the hypocrite that he is, by trying to play the senile 'uncle' card. "Truth" doesn't necessarily help a Presidential candidate. Perception and 'buzz-words' seem to be the only motivating factors. There are a larger group of folks that will say the Obama/Wright affiliation is something they can't and will never vote for, than there are those who would consider the "truth" behind any of the statements; no matter how red, large and bold they are.

Edited to correct grammar/usage: I blame the grammar errors on beth. her foot surgery prevents me from getting my morning coffee before posting! Although today she made the trip to the kitchen and served as usual, complete with the nipple coating of whipped cream. Must be because she wants to prove that she's well enough to go out for St. Patty's Day.

MissSCD -> RE: Interesting Quotes from Obama's Pastor (3/17/2008 7:10:35 AM)

Politics and church have no business in the same place.  I had a Baptist Pastor call Hillary Clinton a lesbian in the pullpit.  That is not what I went to church for.
The pastors do not understand that what they are trying to achieve is merely creating havoc among their church families eventually leading to losing members who cannot take this stuff anylonger.
This speach is over a month old.  I am glad to see it make main stream tv.
I am appalled.  Hillary Clinton did not drive while black because she is not black.  Hillarly Clinton usually does not make racial comments such as this one.
Obama has said this is his former pastor, but I find it odd that it took twenty years for him to leave.  The main thing that pissed me off was Wright referred to Hillary as privileged while Obama was not.  Obama is highly educated and his wife is a high profile attorney.  They are more than privileged.
So, Wright caused a lot of problems as most pastors do when they bring up politics in church.   I hate it.  This practice needs to cease before I throw a song book at one of them.

Miss SCD,

Hate to post so quick after a post, especially to take a tangent. But your post raised an eyebrow, and a thought.

Wasn't a reason given to form the US a separation of 'Church' and 'State'? Yet here we are, 250 years later, discussing how 'church' is being used as pulpit for political agenda. Whether your pastor's homophobic slant, or Senator Obama's racist Reverend; they, and any other politicized 'church', should lose their tax exempt status.
