What is Hashimoto's?

Anything you want to know, JUST GOOGLE IT.  Google is your friend =)

I would suggest you get a complete head-to-toe physical from your doctor, have your blood drawn and all of your numbers (and macro-nutrients) checked.  Then ask for a referral to a medical/registered dietician.  That should straighten you out.

It's been reported that many people are Vitamin D deficient and being short of Vit D can cause all sorts of problems including muscle pain and general aches all over the body.

Also, check out BBC America's show "You Are What You Eat".

So...here we go...it's not perfect, I know. I get bad cravings at times and do give in. Here is the past week:

Wednesday:
2 slices 15 grain bread
cantaloupe

2 eggs

veggie burger
wheat roll
ketchup

1.5 cups cottage cheese

Thursday:

cantaloupe
organic yogurt

goulash (purged)

4 slices swiss cheese

Friday:

organic yogurt

veggie burger
wheat roll
ketchup

salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, fat free ranch dressing)

1.5 cups cottage cheese

Saturday:

3/4 cup Special K protein plus
1/2 cup ff milk
raspberries

4 fig newtons (LOL I know...horrible...)

goulash

4 small cookies (UGH sugar cravings!)

Sunday:

2 slices 15 grain bread
cantaloupe

stir fry veggies (no sauce...broccol...carrots...yellow squash...zuchini)
3 oz chicken

1.5 cups cottage cheese

Monday:

12 things of string cheese (LOL)

Tuesday:

yogurt
raspberries
broccoli

one piece of pizza

3 oz chicken

So far today...

yogurt

It's a lot more carb friendly than I normally do.

Holy Cow!!  I think I eat that much in a day.  Surely your not getting the complete nutritional intake your body needs to run effectively on a daily basis.

I'm curious (yea thats so gonna get me killed one of these days) but if your nutritionist is happy with what your eating now, how little were you eating before?

Are the above quantities good for a day, a week, or a month ;-p ?

I think you are trying to play doctor here.  Litihium saved my life.  It doesn't require much monitoring.
The prozac helps my concentration  big time.
Zanex is fun so get you some zanex. I am seriously thinking about giving my boss one this evening.
Don't try to analyze yourself.  The doctor does that.    Don't worry about what others say either.
If you cannot deal with your customers, tell the boss, you are sick and need to go home.

Cymbalta is an SNRI, like Effexor. Prozac is an SSRI.

Seroquel made me rapid cycle bad...made me suicidal.

Lithium will be a last resort...if I ever try it...too dangerous. Requires close monitoring.

And my psych won't prescribe benzos :( I took Klonopin in the hospital...and it helped so much...I slept the best I have EVER slept...

don't be afraid of Lithium.  It is a wonder drug for some. And i may very well be wrong, but i seem to recall that the close monnitoring was only until the Lithium was stable, then the labwork tapered off....

Lithium tends to supress right brain function for some. I know how hard it is for families and the loved one of us crazy people to appreciate... they see a person now stable, and thier loved, now so stable, says things like, "I can't keep taking this drug. I can't play ping pong on this drug." the family is thinking, who gives a hairy rats ass if you never play ping pong again? But what the person means is that it has become harder to live with passion and joy. and that is just not acceptable. My psche knows that I find it unacceptable to be on a drug that keeps the trees from talking to me. To my mother, that is just my docs enabling me to remain crazy, but, to me, it is them enabling me to remain sane.

Well, how long do you think I should be in therapy before it will "work"? I've been in therapy since I was 16. I've been hospitalized...I've done Day Treatment...several different group therapys...

I do not know, as I do not know what your trauma is about. One day? One week? One month? If you have been at it for six years, you might consider to go shopping for another therapist. Look, it is your life and it is not for me to say what you should do with it.
It seems to me that if you have a trauma and anxiety issue that you acquired in maybe a moment, or perhaps three hours of heavy bombardments, then it ought to be possible for a professional to address it in the same amount of time. Instead, they are prescribing medication for your anxiety, I gather.

I have seen several therapists...I have only been with my current one maybe...two years...he's the best I've seen so far.

Zanax is a benzo which my np will not prescribe b/c it's "addictive"

Prozac was the 2nd antidepressant I tried...was on it for a long time...I gained a lot of weight on it, don't know if it was from the Prozac though. They say it is supposed to decrease your appetite and reduce binging. But it did not for me.

umm...well...when I started seeing her, I was purging pretty much everything I ate. (even fruits and veggies at times...) and then I started restricting to maybe 300 calories a day.

I see a nutritionist once a week...have for the past like 6-7 months...she says I'm doing great (always pushes the more protein thing though)

I really don't think I'm short on vit d b/c I take a multi and all.

But does your body absorb it? Has your blood been tested for their presence?

Some of the medication you take conceivably may also cause some of your symptoms.

I think that in principle there is nothing wrong with your body, but that its biochemistry has been derailed. I think that negative self-fulfilling spirituality has played a major role in derailing your biochemistry, that in the attempt to avoid what you feared you caused it to happen. I think that your specialists and therapists are treating symptoms instead of the cause and that as a consequence your health may continue to deteriorate. I think your medication is a crutch that feeds the problems that you are experiencing.

I advise you to read all my posts in this thread again and again. I do have pertinent knowledge and I do excel in biology.

I have done workbooks and stuff in therapy...about my abuse...and I've done CBT and DBT (even though I am not borderline, everyone had to do it in the hospital)

With the word abuse you refer to your bulimia? BT in CBT and DBT stands for bulimia therapy? I cannot guess what the C and the D are abbreviations of, though. Nor do I think that it matters much. I do believe that you spent a lot of effort in learning about your various problems. But have you ever from one of your therapists heard an analysis such as mine? Do read my posts in this thread again.

By abuse, I mean the sexual abuse I experienced as a child.

CBT= Cognitive behavioral therapy

DBT= Dialectical behavioral therapy

Ah. I cannot advise you on that. But if that is at the root of your trauma, anxiety and perchance lack of self-confidence, then that is what you have to address. You may consider mourning, for example. Or perchance (regressional) hypno-therapy? Spiritual acceptance and enlightenment? I truly have no idea, but perhaps you will have the good fortune to find a specialist that can guide you.

To understand behaviour and to reason about behaviour? I guess then that you know about a thousand times more about these matters than I do. Thank you for the elucidation of those abbreviations.

Medicaid won't pay for hypno therapy. Plus, I don't believe in that sort of shit.
