Gris "that pulling wisdom teeth is a racket. ". For people with normal teeth I agree completely. I have mine, all of them at 47. I think most of dentistry is a racket, not that they do it on purpose, but it what they are taught. I'd like to go into a long treatise about this, but I will refrein from doing so because for most people it is too late. But I will say this much, everything they tell you about preventing tooth decay is bullshit. So, in the interest of helping those who still have a mouthful of teeth I say this. They tellyou that you can eat all the sugar you want as long as you brush frequently, this is bullshit. They say acids produced in your mouth eat the enamel away, poppycock. Teeth are supposed to grow, and get worn off like nails. Sugar does not eat your teeth from the outside, it causes either a deficiency or redistribution of the resouces in the body so that the teeth are deprived of the nutrients they need to grow. Cavities come from the inside out, and I want to see empirical evidence if someone wants to refute that. My evidence is this, do animals brush their teeth ? What's more people with serious dental problems can expect osteopathic problems in the future, because teeth are bones. It is osteoporosis, it just hits the teeth alot of times first. How many people who have problems with their teeth also have TMJ problems ? doll, sorry to hear that you have these problems, really. But what is done is done. If you need them out you need them out. But I can say this, I let mine come in naturally and now I know why babies cry when they are teething. I could barely function for months. But I did. Thing is if you can keep them, do so, but maybe you can't. And the roots go deep, very deep in some cases. Like one poster said they had to break his jaw. Physiological studies and speculation suggest that the "set" of human teeth is required for proper development, which goes on for alot longer than many might think. The way the wisdom teeth grow in suggests that the adjacent molars are required to get them to come in right. If you have missing molars, the wisdom teeth might have to go as they may come in pointing forward or sticking out the side. I also think that braces contribute to the problem, perpetuating the money tree so to speak. Crushing teeth together just to look good might cause problems in the future, and I think they know it. The problem with issues like this is that once the damage is done, the damage is done. While I have actually had a tooth cap itself, or more aptly put, grow and wear off until the chipped part was gone, this is a healthy tooth. For a healthy tooth you need a healthy jaw. For a healthy jaw you need a healthy skeletal structure and blood flow, AND the proper nutrients in that blood. And even all that might not work these days. Enough for now. You do as you see fit. Just understand that I do not believe all their malarkey. T
