I have been having jaw pain for a few weeks now...but my dentist said that it shouldn't be my wisdom teeth b/c I had the teeth infront of them pulled. One is more impacted than the other one though. He said I could have them taken out if I want to though...but...I don't know. I'm kinda a baby when it comes to pain LOL that kind of pain at least  I told him no...that I didn't want to...but I'm going back Wednesday for x rays and I could change my mind...and have them taken out...how long does it hurt after they are pulled? Is it hard to eat?

Have not read anything but the opening post.......but ATTENTION everyone!!!!!!! Medical advice wanted even though the dentist already answered!!!!!!!!!  Not even going to read the rest of the attention seeking, going to enjoy the rest of Sunday.

See your dentist tomorrow earliest. Make sure to tell him about the increase in pain and the ear ache. This is not a good sign, IMO.

You may have what I consider to be an emergency situation. I may be wrong, but if I am not...

Call him I'm sure you have a number to reach him by. Let him know what is happening. Get a referal if necessary to another dentist and consider going to that dentist full time if he works real hours and takes Medicaid/Medicare.

There are none in my area. This is the only clinic in the area that takes medicaid...and it's a 30 minute drive both ways. And they did nothing when I had really really bad tooth pain two years ago. Was a lot worse than this. So I know they won't do anything now.

i have said this in other threads. I cannot believe there is just ONE group of dentists in your area that accepts your insurance. Many private practicing dentists accept Medicare.

I don't have Medicare.

And he just looked at my teeth last time. He didn't do x rays.

it's okay. I live in the middle of no where...100s of miles from a big city. This is the only clinic that takes Medicaid in the counties in my area. I've looked...asked around. This is the only place. People travel over an hour to go there.

Bleh, I feel your pain on the wisdom teeth thing. My dentist botched mine, ended up sticking the novocaine needle clear through my gum at one point, and then sat on me.. like.. ON me to yank them out. Eeep!

They were sore for a while, and ya, it bothered my ear as well. I slept on a hot water bottle a couple times. >.> Def not comfortable, but it helped with the swelling.

Live life with the toss of a coin; heads they yank your teeth out and tails you put up with the pain for the rest of your life. This method can't be a worse way of making decisions than asking a bunch of amateur dentists on a BDSM site where a certain percentage of people enjoy seeing people in some form of pain.

Is anyone posting here a Dentist or Doctor?  I would think that medical and dental problems should be asked and answered by professionals .. if someone truly wanted help....... And shouldn't this be in Health and Safety ?

I think you are correct that it should be ASKED of health professionals, however, the OP seems to always want her medical problems hashed about at length(ATTENTION!!) by the board members here.

edited to add:  Because of the nature of the post, my vote is actually for Random Stupidity.

Sheesh.  Then call your doctor if you are in such bad pain.  You do have a doctor, right?

Pain and length to heal are all subjective and cannot be predicted---Today they have marvelous things that aid om the removal and if you do as your instructed you should do well---

My UM is 18, she has all 4, one is impacted, 3 are not, however as we age, our jaws age, bone decreases, we grind and grit our teeth---I worry about potential TMJ--which can cause ear pain, migraines etc--so while they go in to remove the bad one, I am getting all 4 removed--then she doesn't have to worry about it later.

Just one opinion.

Don't do it. She won't be able to eat for a week. Do the top and bottom of one side at one time, and the other two at some other time.

I've heard horror stories from people who had all four removed at once.
