Normal is not measured by the size of your neck.  From the tip of my thumb to the tip of my index finger is 8 1/4 inches (yes, my fingers are long).  So any neck larger than the span of both my hands would be too large.  So larger than 16 1/2 inches is too large. Think about it.

I am trying to get HEALTHY. It is not healthy to be morbidly obese. I don't want to die. I want to know what a normal size is so that I can try and get there.

that's fine and admirable, BUT being concerned with your neck size isn't and shouldn't be your biggest concern, that will come with weight loss. Plus you have admitted to being bulimic and i wonder if you have a realistic idea of what a healthy weight IS.

Really doll, it's time to get out and keep busy. The problem with staying in all the time is it gives you too much time to focus on yourself. Get out, socialise. Volunteer at a shelter, seeing people who are worse off than you are will make you realise how good you have it. And for God's sake stop with these threads, they are doing nothing but turning people off you....

right now, I'd just like to get under 200 lbs. Ideally...I'd love to be like 120 or so. But that isn't realistic for me.

Me? I'm recovering from surgery, i have no choice but to be inside - doctor's orders. Believe me, i'd rather be back at work......the lack of human interaction is driving me NUTS!

Gosh, i have no clue how big my neck is, but it does its job my heads still there, i really dont think you need to worry doll, you see doctors and nutritionists if there was a concern about your neck size im sure they would mention it.

Then you know you need to lose weight. Stop drinking soda, period. That will go a long way. Don't drink a lot of fruit juices, they are also high calorie. No refined sugar snacks.

Reduce your carb intake, breads especially. Do not fill your dish until it is full. Ever notice that there is wide defined edge on most plates with a center section that is either "sunk" into the plate or deliniated by a design or simple drawn circle? Your food should not go outside those areas.

If you eat right, reduce your intake, and start walking as far as you can each day, and work your way up to 5 miles a day, you will get better and lose the weight.
Exercise AND a proper diet are required. And walking does far more than people realize.

eating healthy and exercising? under 1200 calories, more than 80 g of protein, lots of fresh fruits and veggies...very little processed or premade crap. No artifcial sweeteners. Low sodium.

LOL I don't drink soda...haven't in a very long time...I don't drink juice either...haven't since they tried to force me when I was in the hospital. They tried to make me drink 7 juices a day when I was in the hospital LOL I'm like...uh...no...LOL PLUS 3 milks...hell those alone would add up to what I need calorie wise LOL then they said I was "restricting" LOL yeah...I was eating like 1500 calories a day...that ain't restricting.

oh and I don't need to reduce my carbs...I barely eat any...and what I do it is fruits and whole grains. I generally get under 100 carbs a day. 180 is recommended.

domahpet, that's medical not personal belief. The highter the BMI index the more danger you are in of heart ailments, as well as back and knee troubles.

Being a big sexy woman isn't an issue to me, not when the woman likes who she is. Her health, in the long run, that is. Some people can carry such weight without a problem, but not most.

Be yourself. That's all I can really say. You are who you are and you're happy. Good enough.

1200 calories a day is very restrictive if you are more than 20 lbs overweight ..  most nutritionists recommend 1800 to start with and you WILL still lose weight ...

LOL I was told 1200 by one and 1500 by others...and I won't lose wieght on 1800 calories...I have a slow metabolism from hypothyrodism...even on my WORST days...I do not eat over 2000 calories. 1200 is good for me. My nutritionist says I'm doing great.
