ORIGINAL: domahpet that bmi calculator said i am 33.9, ok so 34. it also says i am obeses. so i went to look in the mirror. i am so not obese! i am curvy as hell, got big tits and a big ass, but you know what? not a single person has ever said, holly, yanno some machine said youre obese, whatr you gonna do about it? in fact the opposite, because that is how I present myself i love being curvy, im boomin baby! oh yea, that bmi thing is crap. 25.8 for me. Which is very slightly overweight according to that test. Since all you're doing is entering height and weight, and it doesn't account for other factors, it's not terribly accurate. It's a great place to start, but it's not nearly comprehensive. According to my doctor, I'm well within healthy weight for my height and bone structure. I trust my doctor over an online calculator. It's a great resource, but shouldn't be considered the end-all be-all for a healthy BMI. I also think that particular calculator is on the low side. It's trying to tell me that 125 lbs. is the low end of the healthy spectrum for my height, 5' 9". Any doctor will tell you that is underweight at that height. In high school I weighed 125 lbs. and you could see every bone in my body. It was distinctly unhealthy.
