Mine is a little larger than normal, almost 10". But no matter how hard I try, I cant get it around my neck. Heck, I can barely get it above my belly button!

BMI is also not EXACTLY accurage becasue it doesnt take into account muscle mas properly. But for the most part, your Body Mass Index is a fairly good indicator of your health. Outward appearances can vary with weight, and being a big curvy woman can happen if someone carries their weight differently. I weigh more than averagebecaue of my muscle mass. I am not big nor curvy, but according to the scale I must be.  However, at higher BMIs, the external apearance is less important than what is going on inside your body. When I talked ot my exhusband's doctor before his gastric bypass, what he told me was that my ex would look essentialy the same with a 4-6 point spread in his BMI since he carried his weight a certain way. However, his BMI was so high that there was fat deposits on most of his internal organs. Looking at him, youd never have known it, he didnt look nearly as big as he truly was, but his issue was the mass inside, not visibly on his frame. People forget not everything is where you can see it.

LOL I was told 1200 by one and 1500 by others...and I won't lose wieght on 1800 calories...I have a slow metabolism from hypothyrodism...even on my WORST days...I do not eat over 2000 calories. 1200 is good for me. My nutritionist says I'm doing great.

Listen to the nutritionist.....they know more about you than any of us do ...  I also have a slow metabolism ... and know what I have been told and see for others ... but see no reason for my or anyones advice to be laughed at if you ask for it ....

then what you need to do is get that under control. I'm also hypothyroid and yes it can be difficult but it's possible. Getting that under control should take care of the weight loss on it's own, i started losing weight when my hypothyroidism was brought under control...1200 calories is far from good, it is restricting intake and i cannot imagine a nutritionist who would say it is, especially if you are morbidly obese.

Im joining Harlet I think. I get too much of a vibe that someone is trying to show off how much they know when advice is given. They dont want answers, they want a chance to tell everyone else how much they already know about a subject.
I have better things to do than help someone pat themselves on the back.

that bmi calculator said i am 33.9, ok so 34. it also says i am obeses.
so i went to look in the mirror. i am so not obese! i am curvy as hell,
got big tits and a big ass, but you know what? not a single person has ever
said, holly, yanno some machine said youre obese, whatr you gonna do about it?
in fact the opposite, because that is how I present myself
i love being curvy, im boomin baby!
oh yea, that bmi thing is crap.

25.8 for me.  Which is very slightly overweight according to that test.  Since all you're doing is entering height and weight, and it doesn't account for other factors, it's not terribly accurate.  It's a great place to start, but it's not nearly comprehensive.  According to my doctor, I'm well within healthy weight for my height and bone structure.  I trust my doctor over an online calculator.  It's a great resource, but shouldn't be considered the end-all be-all for a healthy BMI.

I also think that particular calculator is on the low side.  It's trying to tell me that 125 lbs. is the low end of the healthy spectrum for my height, 5' 9".  Any doctor will tell you that is underweight at that height.  In high school I weighed 125 lbs. and you could see every bone in my body.  It was distinctly unhealthy.

my nutritionist says it's fine...and my best friend eats the same amount I do and she's a little less than me and seeing a nutritionist as well. 1500 calories is generally the recommended caloric intake but some people, especially the severely over weight who need to lose a lot of weight, lose weight faster at 1200 calories. I only lose 1-2 lbs of body fat per week. I'm not losing too fast and I get the nutrition I need in what I eat.

Doll, why do you come here looking to get into arguments?
If I post my morning routine with Master, and ask for advice on how to do it better and please him more - even though that is not exactly what I asked for - I will get people giving me health advice on my sex life - offering their opinion about rather we are SSC - talking about the effect on the planet of using more or less water in the shower - someone telling me i should not carry Master his coffee because too much coffee is bad for his health - someone else starting an argument with them about obedience - some conversation about micromanagement - some discussion about breakfast menus, some people talking about time management in the morning - some people telling me what time they get up in the morning - discussion on the best alarm clock - and some chat from other slaves who use Flylady, which will lead to discussion of getting dressed to lace up shoes vs. slaves wear slavesilks or they wear nothing at all. When all I asked for were tips on giving a better blowjob.
Where did you get the idea that what you say, what you ask, how you start a thread is so important that it is your right to control or have expectations as to how others will post? get over yourself.
You have made yourself a part of this community, shared things about yourself, and some people care about you and are concerned about you when you share. Others are just annoyed and want to gag your keyboard. If you are so sure that you are doing a perfect job of managing your eating disorders and don't need advice from here, then don't ask for advice. Go ask your nutritionist what a normal neck size is, and see if she doesn't also tell you that that is the last thing you need to obsess on.
Yes, a double chin is unattractive, (I know, I have one), but your neck size does not include your double chin. Some body parts are relevant to health - waist girth, for instance. Although I think the most attractive way for a woman my size to carry this much extra bulk is to be apple shaped, it is also the least healthy. But I've never read anything about neck size being related to increased weight related health risks.

my lowest weight was a bmi of about 24-25 hehe so about the same as yours is now. I was 5'1 and 130 lbs. I actually did see 127 lbs once...LOL but I was severely dehydrated...I had big boobs too so that was a few pounds...

that would make you pear shaped not apple shaped....apple shaped is when you carry more weight around your middle. Like i said before - and you ignored, getting your thyroid under control should go a long way towards getting your weight under control.
