Well, I certainly feel old. I have nieces and nephews older than you.

You may be young, but you are wise beyond your years.

Jan 3 1984! Haha!

Oh wait, the boy pet was born the following July 1st.
But he doesn't post. So there.

To keep it on topic:

Drivers in Texas. God, I thought folks on the Dan Ryan were heinous sometimes.
Lack of punctuality.
People who show up without calling first, or say they will be over "soon" and then either show up hours later, or not at all.
People who neglect their children or animals. (You know, letting kids run roughshod and keeping pets tied up with no human contact for months at a time.)
Blatant misuse of the English language. This applies to both written and spoken words. Non-native speakers are given a degree of grace.

1)  People automatically thinking things have to be dumbed down for me just because I grew up in a small hick town.
2)  Older men calling me kid, kiddo, or youngin.  (Wonder how theyd feel if I called them geezer?)
3)  People who wanna fabricate happy lil fibs about how when they were my age they had to walk 72 miles uphill both ways in 100 degree weather with 200 feet of snow on the ground.  Get.  A.  Fucking.  Life.  Asshole.

Sweetness, this is the United States of America.   While we didn't exactly invent the automobile, we sho-nuff perfected it.  And dammit we ARE proud.  We have drive-thru banks.  We have drive thru dry-cleaners.  We have drive-thru Starbucks on ever third effing corner.   We have drive thru drugstores.  We have drive thru liquor stores (YES WE DO...North Dakota still has one.  Saw it about 6 mo. ago).  And we used to have a drive-thru strip club, but I understand it closed.

Because we are proudly "a Christian nation" we have drive thru churches -- several of them.  We have drive thru prayer booths where a pastor will pray for you without needing to leave the comfort of your Rocket 88.   We have drive thru wedding chapels.  We have drive thru funeral homes.

And now that gas (petrol, to you) is north of $4.00/gallon...we are PISSED OFF.

Is that true?  Can you confirm it?

I ask because years ago, a friend told me about them and we were like, oh gosh, surely, the end is near...And then we performed ritual self-flaggellation in an effort to purify our selves in time for the rapture.

But, seriously, are there really drive through funeral homes?  We never knew whether to believe it or not.

That's just.... bizarre, to me.  I can't imagine not having SOME interaction at a funeral with the other people.. personally, I need the hugs, exchange of memories,  etc. Yes, I understand that's also served at wakes and memorial services.. but for me, the interrment is a time of (and I hate this word) closure.

i share Your hate for that word, but it actually belongs there, as do the hugs and the human interaction, but that could be me being old again (or is that still).

Not old.. just not grasping the whole 'video game / instant gratification / MEMEMEMEME' thing that seems to be so prevalent these days.

**Because I wanna be funny**

Welcome to The Double D Fly By.

Here at the Double D you can get all sorts of Drive Thru Action. However you are charged by the second so if you are really interested in one of our girls it could end up costing you.

We do ask gentlemen that if you wish to speed through to not put your heads out the windows cause some of our girls actually have Double D's and as your head hits them the cause Black eyes and Fat lips.

We will no longer be offering Drive Thru Lap dances as the last three girls who got in the cars have yet to be seen again. Apparently the Gents are Aweful happy with um.

Thank you Drive Thru.

Steel
