They make drive through banks. Holy cow.

Okay Tell me you are joking and you have seen the Drive Through Lines at a Bank.

You can Deposit, Withdrawl , and check on lines of Credit all from in your own car.

What Country are you in where Banks don't have these??

I haven't read the entire thread yet, but this one caught my eye. I try not to say "nice" because I know what it really means. It's not an insult, unless you're using the meaning of "fastidious," but it's just too vague - too many nuances to the definition.

Anyway, my peeves:

1. People who pull into handicapped parking places, hop out of their car and run into the store. Maybe they're mentally challenged?

2. People who dash ahead of you to open a door, and when you think they're going to hold it open for you, let it close in your face.

3. Incompetent governmental bureaucrats who know they have you in their power and do everything they can to ensure you do not get what you are entitled to.

4. Discrimination in whatever form for whatever cause. People are people, whatever their color, race, religion, ethnicity, orientation, disability, sex, or any other factor.

I'm going to highjack for a little indulgence to remark on people in general:

I have found that there are a great many kind and thoughtful people in the world. People who go out of their way to open a door for someone else, people who help you pick up the change you dropped and give you back every penny, people who tell the clerk they got too much change back - people like that revive my opinion of the human race.

pip, haven't lost hope yet

England. Never even heard of the concept, let alone seen. Or are you taking the piss? Is it a made-up thing, like garlic bread?

Okay Now you're just fucking with me.

Yes in the states there is a Drive Up Teller when you can Cash Checks and get Cash without having to go inside the Bank.

And Garlic Bread is in fact a real thing and if you are really good you can actually back the garlic right into the bread

Yuummmmmmmmmmmm

I think it is now lunch time

I remember drive-through banks. They used to be on every bank in the US (the American need to do everything "conveniently"). My brother still uses one in the small Michigan town where he lives. Here in California, they have largely been replaced with drive-through ATM stations.

And garlic bread is hardly made-up. A loaf of Italian or French bread, split, spread with butter and crushed garlic, sprinkled with parmesan cheese, and broiled until the cheese melts and bubbles ---

pip, apoligizing for the hijack, and going off in search of garlic bread

*edited because I messed up the quote feature.

Ha garlic bread was totally a bad joke on my part... famous catchphrase from an English comedian. Still dont believe the drive in ATM's or banks!

We need to get back on track... I'm adding people who slow to let me cross the road to my pet peeves cos it annoys me for no definable reason

I'm guessing that the UK gave up on this concept?  HSBC to open drive-thru banks in the UK in 2007.

Oh wait... In 1928, City Center Bank, which became UMB Financial Corp opened what is considered the first drive-up window, in Syracuse, New York.  Westminster Bank, impressed by the concept, opened the UK's first drive-through bank in Liverpool in 1959, soon followed by Ulster Bank opening Ireland's first in 1961 at Finaghy.

So you're just too young?  New pet peeve... peeps who make me feel old, no wait, not "old"... the phrase is "enlightened by experience."

Since I was in high school then, you just proved my point that you're just far, far, FAR too young for me.  Is it check? or is it checkmate?
