I figured I would celebrate this Retarded achievement by discussing what caused me to get here.

My Inability to Mind My Own Damn Business.

The Forums on CollarChat are a wonderful place where people who don't know me have asked a question and opened themselves to my Vast array of Meaningless Babble or Worthless knowledge. Now some of these people have come to enjoy my opinions while others ignore me completely and since I am blocked by them now..... Screw you too!

I was wondering when keeps some people coming back day after day? I once left collar chat for like three months because I hated the negative crap that people spewed on other people just because they disagreed but I came back and decided to say screw it, someone asked a question I am going to answer it.

So when I came back some 4 or 5 months ago I don't really remember I started simply answering the questions, throwing in a little humor here and there but Honestly trying to give my Honest opinion without Judging the person asking the question. Sometimes I succeeded and a few times I failed, some people just get under my skin.

The BDSM world is full of slight differences. We often use the same words but we choose different meanings for those words. Anyone who knows me from some of the other forums I belong to know that I HATE definition Threads because we just can't agree on ONE definition so NONE of the ones we have mean anything to anyone but the ones who use them.

No where else except on these forums can you see how very similar yet very different we are. Only here can you get a Point of view from 50 different people all professing to feel the same way you do about a subject yet still agree or disagree on the principal.

I often wonder what the draw is for those with 10,000 plus posts? Why do you keep coming back? Is it something that you feel is your DUTY? Right? possible you feel others NEED to hear your point of view?

Those who have less then 100 and are Brand Spanking (Pun Intended) New to the sight, do you often think that those with the higher numbers know better what they are talking about?  Or do you look to them for Guidence because they have so much of it to offer?

Then there are those who have been here for YEARS and have only posted a handful of times and admit to reading the forums a lot but rarely posting, Why do you keep coming back to these forums and reading on the random thoughts and questions?

For me I like knowing things about people. Consider this the ultimate form of people watching. Not only do I get to look in on thier actions from time to time I also get to hear thier thoughts in a way. I get to offer a point of view that they may not have seen before.

I know this won't be a super LONG thread but I am curious as to why YOU personally enjoy the Collar Chat Forums? What is the draw for you?

I come here because I enjoy it.  I come here because I learn things, even from those that irritate me.  The only time I notice someone's posting number is when they seem quite judgmental or one-true-wayish and that's when I usually see that they are in the single digits or double digits.

If you want to see what I have to say, you read my posts, if you dont then dont. AS long as you dont expect me to agree becasue its the "thing to do" then you wont be disappointed.

I will admit that I am biased against those who have Ice Cream cones but only a little. And I generally still read those posts. The handcuffs or other little trinkets next to or under ones name has little meaning to ones ability to reach me, or my insight. I have a list of people Who I look for in the forums, and whose words I hold with high regard, (ego stroking, Yours are in this list Steel) and then I have some that I wouldn't read if it was the only new post on the forums.

As for the why I come back... Well simple. The Mods have'nt banned me yet. So I will keep coming back till they do, or until I find more I would rather do with my time. I like the thoughts I find here. (sometimes) I love the education. I still get inspirations for new things to try on My Love with regular kinks and not so regular. We are always looking for something we haven't done to add to our repitior(sp).  And as for why would any one read any thing I posted... Beats the hell outta me. My posts are not usually full of godly insight or humanitarian kindness, so who knows?

As for the rest... Fuck'm. I do what I do. I live how I live. And most importantly to me, I LOVE how only I can. And if you have a problem with it, go find a forum to bitch about it in.

I keep an eye out for peopleI see posting again and again, I find it so interesting.

I wait to see who's flamed and who is treated with hugs.

And I respect those who have experience to answer more than those who've racked up the score.

I dont necessarily gather my views or opinions from teh message boards but its a great way to have a glimpse at someone elses way of thinking.

Status: offline 		i come around because i sometimes feel the need to put in my 2 cents, and i like trying to determine what and why my 2 pennies are what they end up being.  every question i read or answer makes me question myself, i feel like it helps on my awareness to both read other views, as well as try to understand my own.  i also like that CM certainly has a higher IQ rating as a whole when compared to many other forums i frequent.

what keeps me coming back is pretty much the same as any other forum, i like a lot of the the people posting, i like the community.

as for the higher post count, i don't look to them for guidance or see them as knowing what they're talking about, but that their opinions are less likely to be challenged, where most anything a newbie says is going to be wrong, and in so many cases they are looked at like "who the hell are you, you don't know what you're talking about".  post counts often get treated as seniority or superiority for some reason, when really it's pretty much like site counters, it seems like a neat idea, but no one in fact cares.  useless numbers.  honestly, i miss my ice cream.

Actually, that's only partly true (sad, huh?)

I enjoy seeing other folks views on all kinds of things. Occasionally adding my (usually rambling) thoughts. Playing in the off topic threads.

There are some people whose thoughts make me sit up and take notice, some who have me convinced that they are under the influence of REALLLY REALLLLLLLY bad street drugs, some who make me smile and laugh (whether or not I agree with them), and one who invariably makes me want to reach through the monitor and non-consensually beat the crap out of (who, thankfully, I haven't seen posting of late... Please God, let it remain that way).

Status: offline 		I enjoy discussion forums. I've been doing this since back in the BBS days. I participate in all kinds of forums, both kinky and non kinky - many of them on Usenet. I started visiting here after b.com crashed back in December and I like these forums much better.

I don't start many threads here. If I see a topic of interest I'll chime in. After only a few months here I can already scan down the panel to the left and view the user names and predict what they will say in regard to a given topic before I read their post.

It's just something I enjoy. No deep or hidden meaning here.

Ooooooh...Don't forget the moderation. If you have never been on moderation it is an undescribable experience. The food tastes better....The sex lasts for hours. All of the profiles and posters that have been removed are accessible once one is moderated.

Now those fuckers know how to party.
