I never get to rest on my laurels by the new ones who come around, and really get to enjoy the depth and evolution of the regulars.

And the culture of posters is one that really embraces open opinions and variety- not the typical kink bashing you find in a lot of other places.

I like the community, the camradrie, the amusements, the assholes, the learning, the knowledge, the occasion ROFL, and I even like ice cream cones (though usually more chocolate than vanilla.)

I try to post opinions and not judgement, but I'm not sure I manage that all the time. As someone who adores teaching, these forums give Me a teaching "fix" now I don't have a classroom to operate in. I really like giving something back because I have learned so much from so many, love to pass that on. There are some I have become very friendly with through these forums and I wouldn't have missed that for the world! Plus being in Australia, it is nice to see what happens elsewhere ... and remind all you northerners that there are people on the southern half of this planet!

I usually try to not let the idiots get under My skin ... and I try to live by the maxim of "if you haven't got something constructive to say, don't say anything!" I probably shouldn't spend quite as much time here as I do ... some of why I am here is to procrastinate about work LOL ... but overall it's a positive force in My life. Amongst anything else ... it makes Me think ... and that's always good!

Congrats Steel on 1001! I'm not even sure how many I've got LOL!

I come here to learn, primarily, and to try to get another's viewpoint.  Making lots of mistakes has taught me that I could use the advice, thoughts, and opinions of others BEFORE mistakes happen instead of after.  I like to learn, to read, and to discover new things.  There are folks who I enjoy reading, and whose links I will always read, but most of the time I just tool around, hoping to find something interesting.

I read A LOT more than I post.  It's easy to find 5 minutes to read a post here and there, and keep in mind later which I wanted to respond to.  Like this one.  :)

This for me is stress release---I use it as a reward after a hard working day---I am guilty of posting bothm though I think opinions and advice outweigh judgements if I go back and look at my WL record---( though I am not blameless either).

I don't look at the amount of posts as a person could belong for a good while and have just decided to brave the elements---I DO look at amount of time on the site---why? I have no idea as someone could be a lifer and have just found the time to join and post----I DO look at the age though---and there is a young age group that makes Me roll My eyes---I am human after all and I have My opinions and judgements.

I just posted this to make sure a 'vanilla ice cream cone' was represented as someone earlier in this thread said that they annoyed them.

Surely us newbies have to start somewhere? ;-)

And besides, we might even have something intelligent to say occasionally.....

Yes, well, I was found out the other day by another poster. Funny thing is; I believe they may have thought I would think it is a “bad” thing, or that I didn’t already know.

I decided not to deny the truth, but to embrace it, and run with it.

Your hands, my imagination; I would definitely be in trouble.

Because you people turn me on. I get intellecutally and creatively charged, I laugh my ass off, I ruefully shake my head and I have even cried. I thank you for it and for the opportunity to say it here.

You're stuck with me.

Dear Steel:
I haven't read the rest of the thread YET but I will.
happy 1,000th post birthday.
I use the forums because it:
1. Sparks off a type of creativity within me....especially when I am feeling sad. It gets my humour out.
2. When I am feeling really really personally stuck.....then it's really amazing to find others who feel very similar.....and useful also to find those who sling mud. It's good to learn to duck out of the way of shit don't you think?
3. It's a place of intelligent and informed discussion.
4. It's a place to make friends.....well grounded folk of all ages, races, orientations and demeanor.
5. It changes a world of scarcity of experience into a world of abundance.
I get good supportive and meaningful private mail from those who are my friends here. And I include you as one Steel.
PS oh and to be judgmetal, mess with Moderators and Goreans obviously (wit btw)
ed to add And to get stuck to Subtee

Honestly, i'm here out of boredom, to give my two cents, veiws and opinions so in the off chance someone like me is reading it and saying "Yes! That's how i feel too!", but i'm mostly here to feed my un-ending curiosity. Yes, yes... i know. Curiosity killed the cat. But... Satisfaction brought her back!

Ditto for me. lol thanks TL for typing it out for me hehe

Small correction, "our imaginations".  Nobody has ever accused me of

I enjoy the casual banter and the ability to share ideas, myself.  Mind you, most of my posts are in Polls & Other Random Stupidity, based on the theory that a fair number of the threads will end up there, or probably should have.

The train wrecks are another story.   I deal with quite enough shit in my life beyond the boards; if someone feels the overwhelming urge to get dramatic I'll either pass or offer a comment to try and nudge things away from the open flames.  Failing that, I can [and have, on a few rare occasions] simply block the person, thus avoiding being subjected to their overweening need to bait.

[Don't worry, Steel, I certainly haven't blocked you, and see no reason to.  I know the negative connotations people try to slap on the ignore function; it's a tool, like anything else.  Personally, I reserve it for tools, and to date they only number three.  No regrets, here; I'd also use the TV remote to mute my mother on occasion, if I thought it would work...]

OL,

Yes, of course.  I was just taking into account how much I tend to “float” away, when mine is fully engaged. ;)

As for your disappointing me, for some reason, I doubt that’s possible.
