I'm getting a bike for short-distance running around. My next vehicle? Who knows? I just bought my Volvo XC and I'm not buying another one any time soon if I can help it.

My car will always be an SUV.  If you've ever been in an accident then you know why.  I drove away without a dent.  She was totaled with all kinds of pretty colored liquids spewing out of her engine.  Well worth the price of the gas.  Aileen1968

Honey you'll change when it's $12.00 bucks a gallon.

I'm really happy so far with my Ford Five Hundred.  Roomy, peppy and good on gas.

Of course, they have since slapped the Taurus nameplate back on the new ones....

Count yoursel lucky the new "Taurus"  has a ford transmission
Your 500 has  Volve CV transmisson which is 10X better then majority of power train components put out by ford.
Im thinking of getting an AWD 500

Likely I'll be taking a serious look at the full hybrid pickups. been waiting for them to come out for awhile now.
Always wondered who'd get to market first. Chevy has a full sized full hybrid comming out this year.
Always figured Toyota or Honda would have the first one at the dealership.
Toyota has a concept truck out now, but I have a couple years before I'll be looking seriously, by then there could be an offering by
Ford (based on the Ford Escape hybrid SUV)
Toyota ( they have 2 in the works from what I hear)
Honda (Would thing they would have a Ridgeline Hybrid out soon) They have hybrids they have trucks when they gonna figure it out that we want them combined?

My Harley still gets 40 mpg

~fast reply

I just bought another sporty sedan. It gets, at most, 23 mpg. It's alot nicer but not as economical as my last car. I'm gonna drive it for a year or two, then go back to what worked for me for many years...a small, quick 2-seater. My MR2 never dropped below 30 mpg and my old CRX got better than 35 mpg if I drove like a normal person.

christine1 -> RE: Gas!! What will be your next Vehicle? (4/29/2008 7:39:52 PM)

You're unemployed and have a company credit card? Shit, i MUST be doing something wrong... here i am with no company credit card AND employed like a sucker [>:]

i've been told i can't get any new vehicles until i get a few of my existing ones running... hopefully i'll get the title problems sorted out on my little 150cc '65 Honda and get that on the road... should return something around 60-65 MPG. More likely it'll be the V65 Sabre, though, since that should only need a carb rebuild, batter, and insurance... will probably only get 35-40 MPG, but the POWER! [:)]

PanthersMom -> RE: Gas!! What will be your next Vehicle? (4/29/2008 8:05:18 PM)

we'll always have something large, with 4 boys and my wheelchair or scooter to lug around, we'll need something big for many yrs to come.  since i don't drive anymore our gas consumption has dropped dramatically, we have to coordinate more trips  and get more done every time we take the car out.

When I go for cross state trips, I switch my rear sprocket, my bikes accelerates slower but  gets even better gas mileage on the highway.

FirmhandKY -> RE: Gas!! What will be your next Vehicle? (4/29/2008 8:23:14 PM)

My next vehicle?

The biggest, heaviest, least gas efficient road hog I can find. [:D]

*shrugs* F!ck the cost of gas.  I want everyone to move out of my way.  Quickly.

Leatherist -> RE: Gas!! What will be your next Vehicle? (4/29/2008 8:24:30 PM)

I bike the two miles to work. My gas costs are zero.
