Status: offline 		In a townhall meeting in Des Moines, a questioner asked John McCain:

"Is it true you called your wife a cunt?"  (video)

Now some interesting facts:

1.  The questioner was described in some articles as a "Baptist minister". Huffington Post story
2.  His name was Marty Parrish, and he was an office manager with Biden campaign for a while, now he is an Obama supporter. (his Myspace site)

He tried to couch his question as an attempt to make a determination about the McCain's temper.  And based on McCain's cool response, I think he got his answer:

McCain: "There's people here who don't respect that kind of language. So I'll move on to the next questioner in the back."

Yeah, sure ... Democrats don't have "dirty tricks".

A Democratic dirty trick implies that people(Dems) got together ,planed and executed that plan and did the dirty trick(s).

Doesn`t even come close in comparison to Bush saying McCain had an illegitimate "mixed" daughter out of wedlock.Or Bush saying McCain`s wife was a druggie,etc.

Now that`s what dirty tricks are........

There will always be individuals who act or speak in bad taste.In this case, a democrat.

To call it a democratic dirty trick is a bit disingenuous.But that`s expected from neo-cons,who live work and breath dirty tricks.

To say that that the party or  Democrats  are responsible for that,would be like saying that republicans are traitors to America, because Karl Rove,Scooter Libby,Cheney and Bush revealed the identity of a covert operative, working for the CIA.

The original source of many of these hit pieces are virulent and sometimes extreme right-wing websites, bloggers, and publications. But they aren't being emailed out from some fringe right-wing group that somehow managed to get my email address. Instead, it is Sidney Blumenthal who, on a regular basis, methodically dispatches these email mudballs to an influential list of opinion shapers --

Status: offline 		While I agree with much of what you said, Owner, I have to wonder what covert operative it is to which you refer?  The so called operative everyone is blaming them for outting was working in a stateside office and was about as covert as the kid working at McDonald's. 
Having met the individual referred to when I lived in Iowa and having been around the Dems in that state, I will almost guaranty that it was a plan thought up to try to discredit the man.  There is a large group of  hatemongering democrats that this man is a part of.  Does it mean that all Dems are such morons?  Absolutely not.  It is also not sneaky enough to be a dirty trick by the major players.  Hillary's staff is far smoother when they stab you in the back.  Ask Obama.  Just because they are Dems doesn't put a shiny halo on their filthy little heads nor does being a republican make them satanic "neo-cons" who should be reviled.  Lumping people into such stereotypes is playground level politicd that we as adults should have long since grown past.

But you so often paint the Republicans with a brush of unconfirmed conspiracy, but not willing to look at your own party and consider it a possibility? Good example of how the politicians keep us busy with the great divide.

And some have said that too. Not sure if you have, but you have always reacted to a Republican possible dirty trick as if they are guilty until proven innocent. Until you can equitably apply your own standards, how can you even say that you are a supporter of equal treatment under the law?

POLITICIANS are the problem, and that includes both major parties.

Crap like the OP is only posted so that a battle of "My party is better than your party." or "Your party is scum." can occur.

I can't imagine having the opportunity to ask a question of a Presidential candidate, and wasting that chance by asking a question such as this--and asked in public  (Pay attention to the reaction of the crowd behind McCain.) 
 
This behaviour is (hopefully) going to haunt the questioner for a long, long time.
 
I hope he thinks it was worth it.

His answer was that it's a "humanitarian" problem and they're all "God's children."
Mexico isn't being very "humanitarian" to it's own people are they?
And, they can be "God's children" in Mexico, they don't need to be in the U.S. to be,..."God's children", do they?

Everyone knows that politics is a dirty game played by both sides, thank you very much. What seems to work so well, in this country, whose citizenry is so easily manipulated, is to toss out inflammatory, red herring , comments and issues, in order to distract and exhuast the limited attention span of the average voter.
