I wouldn't say that the Obama campaign itself is using that 'dirty trick' but I've certainly seen some of his extremely enthusiastic followers doing that very thing, right here in these forums.

I attribute it to his cult-like following (in certain circles). The man walks on water in their eyes! Dare to question him or his qualifications and they practically begin gathering logs for your execution pyre, just like you say...

      I think you've set the bar pretty high for yourself on this one, Firm.  The dirtiest trick in the Barry camp's bag is going to roll out in a very organic sort of way.  That, of course, would be "If you don't support Obama, you must be a rascist."

     Then you have the simple denial you will never get past.  Here we are, talking about an ad campaign (Swiftboat...) as the most heinous of "dirty tricks," all by Republicans, when, in the very same race, a major national network news program ran a story attacking the other candidate based on blatantly forged documents.

    ____'s in a candy store my ass.  How about they had it so easy, for so long, that they forgot how to do it right?  Jesus H. Christ, these people have become so locked in to the victim mentality, they expect admitting incompetence to excuse failure.

No, he does not walk on water.  He is just a man.  Someone who thinks he can make a difference.  He has faults, just like the rest of us.  But again, I ask, specifically what dirty tricks has the Obama campaign resorted to?  Yes, there are ones here who use inflamitory language, but they are not, as far as I know, part of the campaign organization.

I had to read your post four times before (duh!) I realized that was a link, Level. And when it finally "clicked" for me, it was the funniest thing I had seen all day!

Thanks. And thank you Firm, for posting such a potentially great topic.

I had figured from your rantings that facts debunking the 'Obama is a moozlum terrist' myths would have no more effect on you than a twig... thanks for confirming that.

From my "rantings"???

I've never called Obama any such thing. You must have dreamed it. But thank you for the laughs, and for underlining my point... and for putting exclamation marks behind it!

The fact that all you can do is accuse people who debunk the myths and hoaxes, of 'worshipping' Obama  proves my point.

The Snopes links you ridicule are very specifically on the topic of lies about Obama, including the Muslim one...when you ridicule that Snopes debunking, you are de facto supporting the rumors.

i just don't see the democrats as being the only ones with dirty tricks.  i don't like any of the three candidates.  i wish there was a plausable write in.  if there is, i don't know about them.

 "But again, I ask, specifically what dirty tricks has the Obama campaign resorted to?"

There won`t be any examples.

Cry baby republicans would like folks to think there are but can only opine,not inform.

Btw,saying a media outlet was unfair, doesn`t count as an example of dirty tricks.An individual asking a stupid question,doesn`t count either.
If you want to include media,FoxNews,the media arm of the RNC,has an awful lot to answer for.

Real examples:

Breaking in to your opponents office,or steeling his debate notes/strategy,is a dirty trick.
Hiring your friends to say John McCain has an illegitimate out of wed lock mixed-race UM,is a dirty trick.
Hiring your friends to say John McCain`s wife is a druggie,is a dirty trick.
Hiring your friends to say John Kerry is a war coward and cheater,is a dirty trick.
Using the DOJ as a political tool,is a dirty trick.
Voter caging and voter intimidation,is a dirty trick.
Hiring a firm to crash a campaign headquarter`s phone bank,is a dirty trick.
Hiring a firm to register voters and then trashing the democratic registrations,is a dirty trick.
Having members of Bush`s staff participate in voter supression,is a dirty trick.

I can go on,....and on.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I`m also amazed by the posters who say both sides are as bad as the other.
That`s uninformed ,wishy-washy,pseudo-analysis.  You`re either not paying attention,really don`t care either way or or know that`s false and  you`re just bullshitting.
I say there`s no comparison between the parties in terms of political dirty tricks and can defend that.
That doesn`t require kool-aid,bending truth and  logic or leaps of faith.It only needs the record and the light of day.
I`ve given plenty of recent examples and instances of republican dirty tricks.Dirty tricks that all (normal) people see as dirty,not just democrats.
I thinks it`s clear that Firm is grasping for straws with his OP and wishes,truly wishes that there were real examples of democratic dirty tricks,to balance things out.
This is a typical but guilt ridden/defensive response,much like a UM,who when caught w/ it`s hand in the cookie jar,screams and yells that the other UMs are steeling cookie too.lol Like that`s going to help at all.lol
Time for a spank`n, Firm.But 1st,wash those cookie crumbs off your face.
I never ridiculed any Snopes links.
Really, I don't know what you're writing about. Look, I just defended Obama from charges that his campaign is pulling a dirty trick, an accusation TheHeretic made.
My reference to people worshiping Obama was merely my lighthearted way of saying that his supporters are very energized and that if you say anything negative about his policies they attack you with anything and everything other than facts pertaining to the actual debate at hand, as Rich was saying. They're very... enthusiastic.
I think you're confusing me with someone else.
Really.
Something...
Not mine anymore. Going all the way back through his Illinois and Chicago careers, as well as looking at the people he has associated himself with, I have determined he is just another business as usual politician.
Really?  That's pretty interesting, since the bios I've read clearly point out that he was never a Chicago politician 'as usual', but instead went straight to the legislature as an activist lawyer suing for tenant's rights among other things.
Care to provide some proof of the assertion that he held elected office in Chicago and rose to his current position the usual way?
No proof,just opinion,from someone who ~wishes to appear~ non-partisan,objective,open minded and balanced.
Well now that I hijacked this thread...sorry, but yes Level, I agree.   Excusing calling an entire race/ethnicity of people a derogatory term because you were mis-treated by one or some of them? Please...that is weak. If that logic held we women would all be calling men pompous pricks with insatiable egos and we know that isn't true right fellas?
**ducks for cover and hides behind Level..please?
I'm not Republican, nor particularly a McCain supporter, but MISTREATED?
Gee, I'm sorry if you feel mistreated by men, but to say, with a straight face, that there is somehow a comparison with you being cheated on, feeling used by, blah, blah blah, to someone who spent seven years being tortured in a Vietnamese prison camp is ludicrous.
If anyone has the right to hate, it surely is that man.
Popeye, that may have been the original meaning (I don't know), but it's went way beyond that. There are morons a-plenty that use "gook" to mock anyone even remotely resembling Asian descent.
Ok, so there's some guy in Cleveland who calls people "gooks."
That "bothers" you?
Yes, bigots and stupidity bother me, popeye.
