Status: offline 		i think posting here is about the hardest thing to do...sometimes you may feel as if you have good ideas but are just afraid to say them...snarky is too nice...there are some here that are just down right mean.....but, who are they really?  NO ONE...so i have been trying to post a bit more....sheesh now that i went in a really odd circle i will wait to get wounded......

this is my feeling exactly as well.  occasionally I employ our friend, the block button, just because I do get irritated by the same old thread derailments...I mean jeez, if you're going to derail a thread, at least make it interesting, lol...

I've learned a lot about BDSM in my time here, and I continue to learn.  that was my primary purpose in coming to CM and I've never lost sight of that.  in the process I've made some great friends, but when the mood gets snarky, mean, nasty, etc...I bow out.  life is hard enough, I don't need to subject myself to any of that online.  nobody is compelling me to take part in these message boards or any others.

Each at a different level of maturity and development, of course, and we, each of us, are different from day to day, sometimes due to events that occur in our lives, other times due to hormonal upheavals or even substances we may injest ( don't let's forget caffeine and sugar).

A traumatic event ( or two or three) can , at least temporarily, change one's whole view of things. Sometimes, I try to be aware that this might be the case. At other times, I may give less of a fuck because of my own issues. Human. And, sometimes, I think someone may need a good kick in the ass as a learning experience because, I've been on the receiving end and have found it useful. Sometimes, I just wanna laugh ( most of the time) and I think laughing with folks  makes my day.

Finally, and yes, I will wind this up, there is a great Zen story about four different kinds of horses.

The first kind runs when he/she sees the shadow of the whip.
The second kind runs when he/she feels the sting of the whip.
The third kind runs when he/she feels the whip tear it's flesh.
The fourth kind of horse doesn't run untill he/she feels the pain of the whip in the marrow of it's bones.

One reason I like that story is because, it never refers to a "good" or "bad" horse. Nor does it say that the fourth kind of horse can't win the race. They are simply different kinds of horses. As we, I believe, are all different snow flakes.

Being on CM and posting has taught me a few things about self discipline. First, I've learned that personally attacking peeps or any violation of TOS will not be tolerated and it's made me reconsider how I post. domah, if you think I'm butt kissing, you have a right to your opinion and I think I know where you stand, but, sometimes, friends have differences of opinion and can still be friends.

Secondly, posting and participating here has made me careful of what I post ( unless I just can't help it), because I know, for sure, that if I talk out my ass, or can't defend my position with facts, that will soon be made evident. A good thing, imo..
