i have to agree - unless you suck some major ass with the known "players" and/or agree with them, they can be vindictive and judgemental towards you and your responses here. however i'm not going to let them run me out of here. i came here not to be liked but to share my opinions no matter how biting or opinionated they are.

A lot of people say that being liked doesn't matter to them, I don't share in that view for the simple reason we put across a part of ourselves and if that part is rejected here it'll most likely be rejected in the real world because the people here should reflect those same types of people that exist in the real world.

If I didn't want to be liked to some degree then why am I here? To learn? To teach? what is the point in any of that process if it doesn't give me validation for my own ideas and opinions. It's not an easy thing to admit but I think we all want our views to be welcomed by some otherwise we wouldn't share them in the first place.

It's too clichéd to say, "I'm a mean bastard no one likes me but I don't care." I care and I think if I thought for a second others didn't I wouldn't bother because there would be no point. Obviously some care about their opinions be respected more than others but we all care to some degree I feel.

It is funny; perhaps because I am not a clique-y person but really, I do not see it that way.

I have found most people I have interacted with to be friendly and helpful and I try to be the same way.

Now, when I first joined CM I would find myself frustrated by some of the mean-spirited posts (which were often directed at newcomers and were quite often followed with "get a thicker skin").

There are people who do not get along well, and there are people who are perhaps more difficult to understand but I haven't felt excluded by anyone.
