MMMMMMMMM Those mudbugs (crawfish) look great! I need to get some today for lunch!  On another note thats what I was talking about when I took my ex girlfriend out for lobster and she said "God Damn thats the biggest mudbug I ever saw"... The way ya eat them is ya twist off the tails, eat the tail meat out like lobster then you suck the heads. Thats EXACTLY what she did. Ya should have seen her in a fancy rest. with this lobster head in her mouth sucking it... YEP , Bud and Sissy had a daughter and they named her BrittneyLee. LOL They are actually great, a nice mudbug boil served with corn, taters, onion, shrimp, crabs, and annadouile sausage.... no plates just boil it and dump it out on the newspaper covered table. I have "a boil" a couple of times a year....

And then of course there is that other disgusting French export - the large, green, perfectly formed but utterly tasteless apple. Available in all supermarkets across the UK.

I'd like to take my lot to France this year (and leave 'em, LOL!) but they refuse to go. Theyre convinced theyll have to eat snails and frogs' legs for the week, despite my assurances that actually for the most part French food is much like ours but "Italianised".

No bother. The French trip was on the table because they refused to fly. By playing up their fears over the French cuisine, the plan now is to fly to Rome!

Okay, the foie gras has to be chilled and the knife that's used to cut it has to be plunged in some hot water beforehand so that it melts through the foie as it slices it... oh my god, I just about came... and the toast has to be the perfect consistency and crustiness, no joking with the bread here - it's got to be just so.

Oh god, I'm going to die of barfness from Level's cockroaches of the river though, rofl. Not that I wouldn't LOVE to meet up with him for any other delicacy he can think of :-) . Steak au poivre? That's a nice Texan dish  .

And when you're done in Texas, come up here to the northland, (Minnesota and North Dakota) and have some fresh caught (like, caught a few minuites ago fresh) walleye with a good flaky beer batter...

Oh my god... another dodgy local dish, is it? What's 'walleye'? It sounds worrying.

YAY! I can FINALLY book my flight to Chicago. A city that bans foie gras deserved nothing but my boycott  (as if they gave a toss rofl).

Hmmmmmmmmm... foie gras.

It's a shame it was overturned. Actually, it's amazing it lasted for two years. Chicagoans must have opened their eyes and said: "Whoa!! This is way too humane for us. Sorry...we momentarily forgot we're part of the U.S. We now return you to your normally scheduled, cold-hearted idiocy."

Too many people see food as entertainment. Rent a movie.

I would argue back that all meat production is inhumane... I agree that there should be a massive rethink of the way we approach meat consumption in our society.

This is wrong. Absolutely wrong. What the hell is Chicago thinking lifting the ban? What will become of all those poor people who have been smuggling foie gras into the city? Yeah, uh huh, nobody thought about them, did they? It sucks so bad when the government doesn’t ban things the people want – it puts decent, hardworking criminals out of business.

Thanks to your smuggling comment, I just had a delicious gastronomical fantasy, and imagined how it would be if people held each other at foie gras point and threw foie gras at each other instead of using guns.

What a wonderful world it would be  .

Watch the very old advert for cooking chocolate which inspired my shameless plagiarism  here .

Don't miss the advert for Perrier a little later: it's a great one.

I know all this, luscious - I'm French, remember? We're a heartless people, when it comes to our taste buds :-) .

I'm a gourmand and an ex vegetarian.
I was young. I didn't know any better.
So what do you like better,
Paella, Zuppa de Mare or Bouillabaisse?
Paella with Chorizos, Serrano ham, and smoked duck.

What makes me ill is how much perfectly good dogmeat we are just throwing away-they could make a killing shipping it to china.

Local politicians never cease to amaise me. With crime out of control in Chicago the order of the idiot city council is to dictate what restaurants can serve.. ps.. ( they went to the burbs for dinner and foir )

ROTFLMAO

Crime is out of control in Chicago? More propoganda from those cowering behind the cheddar curtain.

Personally I'm thinking very hard about taking pet out for my first legal foie gras in a couple of years. Maybe find a place doing a pate de foie gras as an appetizer with seared foie gras de canard as an entree. I'll have to call around and see what's available.
