ORIGINAL: LadyEllen Half empty or half full? Neither, for the glass has no inherent existence. Buddhist theory E Not exactly true, Lady E. According to Buddhism, the glass , as all "things", are simply not "me" or "mine". It is the existence of what we think of as the "self" that Buddhism questions. All phenomena are constantly changing and impermanent, including the "heap" ( according to Buddhism ) of phenomena that we call our "selves". And, imo, if you look closely, you will find the Buddha was correct.
