Metrosexuality, what does it mean to you, and is it the right direction for males to evolve ?

Its always good for males to evolve.(I'm joking!) Metrosexuality.. what it means to me. A guy that is concious about his appearance and enjoys self-grooming. Some take it too far for my taste and slid towards androgyny but overall I like it.I adore a well dressed man. Oh jeez yes, for me that is hot hot hot.

i don't think that it would be a positive way for males to evolve... To borrow a line from Fred Reed, society would only last until the oil needed to be changed

Twue masculinity deals in baseball caps, grimy fingernails and beer breath, not in grooming and moisturizer. For god's sake.

Just another in an endless stream of labels that people feel the need to apply to others.

some men do need a reason to get a pedicure cause they really need to do some foot maintenance.

Too twue. I can think of a couple of shmucks on these boards who would do well to fall at my feet and give me a toesuck, that would teach them . They're not metrosexual though, I can even smell them from the other side of the connection.

If Metrosexual means that they will dress well, bathe, shave and put on Aramis cologne, than gimme Metrosexual.

(contemplates whether Sir is Metrosexual, cause he smells good)

Yes, but you would be a male superhero who can leap tall buildings, acessorize, make fashion decisions while balancing career, family and to all things you will know the answer.

I like a male who takes care of himself and Im currently training my male in this. Before he was a baseball cap tshirt-n-jeans kind of guy. Thats ok in certain circumstances but not when your going somewhere that requires better dress. I also have him taking better care of his body/hair/skin, something he never did before. His skin looks so much better as does his hair and this translates into him feeling better about himself.

So as long as its not taken TOO far (I don't like fighting guys over a purse I like in Nordstroms) its ok with me.

I always found the term metrosexual to be more than just the ability to groom ourselves.  It is usually appliedto men who want to have all the fashion sense and masculinity of Queer Eye without actually being gay.  Kind of like the white guys in the suburbs who dress like black gangstas.
A real man should be able to groom himself but still not be afraid to get dirty.  I get pretty dirty when I'm working but I am told that I still clean up well.

Apparently, David Beckham is the ultimate metrosexual. I even wonder whether the term wasn't coined with him in mind.

We gotta have a long talk one of these days kit. But no baseball cap, sorry. I never wear hats or gloves of any kind. But two out of three ain't bad.

I was thinking we should have a crazy hat day where one day of the year we should all have to wear hats for charity. What other excuse do I have to wear a hat goddamnit! I'm sick of wearing jeans to work.

"Metrosexual?"
Is that like having sex on a subway?
I don't even know what it is.

Metrosexuality - The abilty to spend the morning tearing down a small block and then knock up a great meal for two after getting cleaned up ...  and not give a stuff what anyone else thinks about it.
