i was in an IM with a very dear Dom friend of mine when he said He was slapping my face...hard.  My reaction was out of proportion, considering all He'd really done is type.  i felt immediately like closing the IM and never speaking to Him again...an impluse i wisely controlled.
 
i wondered if anyone else has such a violent and bad reaction to face slapping.  To me it's just total and instant degradation.

I was playing with my Dom friend the other day and he slapped my face twice. I had never been slapped before since I am new to play. Well it was a surprise for me . Ohh but I did love it. I think it was the way he handled it . I do not tolerate face slapping at all.  Like you, I believe it is degrading in the worst of ways.

I never thought I'd like it and looked at my friend very strangely when she told me she adored it.  However, being the little sesation slut I am, I eventually had to try it.  Master and I both adore it.

I think there is a slight but significant difference between face slapping online and face slapping in real life.... IMHO. My Sir started to face slap me in real life tonight.... and if it is done with tenderness (yes, it's possible) and with the right intention within the scene He is creating.... then face slapping is erotic, loving and mind-blowing.
Face-slapping online??? Sorry, just don't get it.... By the way, I'm kicking you in the shins while I write this.....

I  find it fascinating to have such an emotional reaction to anything like that on-line.  Yet more proof - sex is political, emotional, physical, spiritual, financial...and much more.  But always deeply personal.  And since in this game of BDSM, we are always flirting with the very edge...no real surprise we step-over the line now and again with our partners, and produce an intensely undesired reaction.  I hope you felt free to communicate with him how it made you feel.  In my house, we talk about the good kind of hurt and the bad kind of hurt, so I know exactly where Frenchy is emotionally, and I don't engage him in a way that wounds him.

Face slapping is a hot button for me...it gets me hot. It centers me, and humiliates me, degrades me, turns me on all in one fell swoop.
 
Some find it resembles moments in their life where abuse was present, some feel violated and can not enjoy it. I have no experience with online "play" while I understand words can hurt or make you feel any kind of emotion, I suppose I am not creative enough to make sm "hurt" online.

Just a fast reply... I am not always into being slapped...sometimes it frightens me, unduely, for reasons unknown.  However, I am often slapped as a quick, easy punishment to fairly minor infractions.  I am also slapped during scenes from time to time.  Nothing like a good "Bitch slap"[sm=rofl.gif][sm=Groaner.gif]  Ok, so...not the greatest joke, but hey it's early! -- Bitch

You need to tell him of your reaction so he knows this isn't good for you.
Face slapping seems to be one of those things people either love or hate. If the very idea of it makes you want to never talk to him again, then you need to communicate this so he knows not to do it.

I have sub friend (male) who willingly drinks his Ladies piss, dreams of urine enemas, can take a pretty fierce beating without batting an eyelid, but absolutely freaks if anyone slaps his face!!

It just does it for some people, doesn't do it for others and is sometimes ok, sometimes not, for even more.

If it's not for you, you must say something. If you don't you will always wonder what would have happened if.......................

Don't lose a possibly good opportunity because of this one thing. Most D's are pretty understanding of peoples quirks and foibles, if only we know.[:)]

I think face slapping is really amazing specifically because it can be very humiliating and degrading, but I sympathise with you-face slapping isn't for E/everyone.

i've yet to try it and not sure i even want to, to be honest. Just the idea turns my stomach. Maybe a little pop will be different, but i shall see. i understand how you feel.

I absolutely love face slapping.  It's probably my favorite thing to have done to me and instantly puts me in subspace from the first slap.  Don't know why and I don't question it.  I just enjoy the warm fuzzy feelings it gives me.  I've never viewed it as humiliating or degradating (?sp).  To me it's just pure dominance.

I have face slapping as a hard limit.  To me it crosses the line into abuse.  Sir will happily paddle my bum, legs, back...but will not ever slap my face.

Hello pinkie. Love to you as always.
Face slapping can be degrading,can be humiliation and depending on the scenario and moment it can be very loving.
Personally, I don't find it humiliating - I do find it primal and it helps me focus at times.  Also, there are moments and times when Darcy leads up to it with a very definate study of my face - examining it very gently and feeling my jawline.  Times like that feels very connecting.  Then back to centre I am placed.
 
It's can be whatever one wants it to be.

I don't find humiliating or degrating at all. In fact depending on the sitiuation I it quite intimate especially when he's methodical about it. Holding my head in place with his other hand around my throat, his piercing unblinking sadistic stare and I remain stoic knowing it's coming. I keep his gaze as he slaps me, or at least as much as I can as my eyes water and I wait for the back-hand....yummy to me!

hi pinksugarbabe - im totally the same in reaction. just the suggestion of it sends me into retreat.  i absolutely hate it.  for me it has a strong and extremely unpleasant memory of being pinned down and having my face repeatedly slapped really hard.  when he finally let me go i sprang off the sofa so fast he barely had time to withdraw and i kicked him so hard in the ass he actually lost his balance and fell on the floor.... not very subbie i know, but i was spitting nails and it took him ages to get me to calm down. 

its odd isnt it, cos i can be slapped across the bum repeatedly and in some pretty degrading positions, and thats perfectly fine! - slap my face and i turn into a swirling ball of irrational fury.
