Well, I got some news today on the medical front, evidently I have some arteries in my right leg that are partially blocked, and there is a spot on one of my kidneys, so I have to see a vascular surgeon and a kidney specialist. What fun.

Well......the world sux. I just checked my voicemail and found out that I have no job. I left one for this one, the one I left is also being terminated at the end of the month...contract work sux! But I have no idea why this one ended. It was a temp job, started last week, I was all excited about starting it, and *poof*...and I have no idea what I may have done wrong. All we did was observe the trainer last week and this am.

I have no idea what I'm going to do....I am sort of dazed and confused right now.....I want to call my mother, but don't want her to worry......at least I can talk to my kittehs. yeah....right.

Trust me, I'm looking hard! It'd just be a little easier if I had someone to talk to.....I've never felt lonely before, but lately, it's been almost overwhelming.

Thanks guys.....I did finally get a reason for the termination....they didn't feel my computer skills "were strong"!! WTF????? how would they know???? I never touched one until the 4th day there, and then all it was was cutting and pasting to a spread sheet. The "trainer" I was with never said a word to me for the first 3 days because she was "stressed out" about someone getting transferred or something. Totally unrelated to the job she was supposed to be doing, which was training me how to use their damn systems.

I did tell the recruiter all about the above, and she said they've been having "issues" with the one client I was at, so she's trying to get to the bottom of it and see what really happened.

And I did get a call from another recruiter, she's going to put me in for a scanning position with one of the banks here...it's working in the vault, but hey, I live for caves anyway. Something mindless would really be a break right now. Hopefully, something will pan out, I must've sent out 25 applications last night alone....I didn't sleep all night, took a two hour nap and got right back to it.

Just an update, they did an ultra sound on my kidneys this morning... damn tech spent 20 minutes looking at my left kidney, about 10 on my right one. Dont know if it means anything but the doctor is supposed to call with results sometime today.

Sorry to read some of y'all are having health and other problems. Ageing , as they say, is not for pussies. However, everyday above ground IS a good day. No? I find that when I start to feel sorry for myself, thinking of all the things I have to be grateful for helps a lot . I start with breathing in and out and go from there.

Also, I recall a favourite line from D.H. Lawrence. " I've never seen a wild thing sorry for itself. A bird will fall dead, frozen, from a limb without once having felt sorry for itself. " I wonder why...

And, we really don't know if other animals feel sorry for themselves, do we? Elephants mourn, chimps go to war and eat their prisoners, dolphins rape...my parrot shows a wide array of emotions.

And animals do have feelings. Anyone who has ever had pets know that they mourn if another member of the family (human or pet) dies or moves away.

My daughter's second horse was really lost when she took him to college. His best buddy, who was her best friend's horse, and he were inseparable prior to that. Some weeks after he got there, another horse who had a superficial similarity to this other horse arrived and he got all excited and then more depressed when he got close enough to discover it wasn't his best friend.

Jeddie became lovey bird again after my grandmother died. Greys often "grow out of" wanting pets and only want kisses...now he wants both all the time.
