To clarify a bit, I know very well that animals not only have feelings, some are capable of conceptualisation and even inter-species communication. There is lots of evidence for both. However, where I agree with Lawrence, twit or not, is that " I have never seen a wild thing sorry for itself." . Think about it. Self pity requires a belief in a self which is separate from "other"' I.e. nature itself. While animals also, no doubt , feel pain of various sorts, I doubt they suffer from self pity. To believe otherwise, IMHO, is to engage in another singular human activity, projecting one's feelings and perceptions on to other beings as well as anthropomorphism. Besides, LadyH, everyone knows parrots are avian perverts ! I always get a boner when ya call me "Charles" in that tone. [8D]
