For practacal purposes, living on FM 1960 is not a bad idea. A person can litteraly live there entire life on 1960. The can be born, attend day care, attend pre school through twelth grade, graduate up to a Docorates in college, and work all the way from bus boy tips to a Multi millionare salery. You can live all the way from Nursery to Nursing Home on FM 1960. You can rent apartment or buy homes. Not to mention, all your stores are there. Malls, dinners, bars, buffets, liqour stores, gas stations, bus stations, book stores, movie theaters, leather shops, sword shops, sushi bars, Waffel House etc.... You name it, it's there with in ten miles of driving. 1960 even has Gyms, Jenny Craig, Health Stores, and a store that sales nothing but Bras/undergarments. When living on FM 1960, there's no need to go anywhere else.

For the non Houstonians rading FM1960 isnt an oldies station - its a Farm to Market road. We Texans have "FM roads" "State Highways" roads that run halfway accross the state with different names in different towns... Like Fairmont Parkway is Fairmont Parkway from Laporte, through Deer Park, Though Pasadena, and once it crosses itnto south houston it becomes edgebrook and then like 2 miles up it becomes Laura Bush Blvd or something ... LOL

As for what ya said about FM 1960 thats true for a lot of roads on Houston. Shit, you can do the same thing on NASA Road 1 or Bay Area Blvd. The businesses in Houston are unbelievable! On Spencer Highway in Pasadena there is a combination Teen Driving School and Half Price Casket store. (I shit you not!) on Spencer in LaPorte they have a combination car wash/dog groomer/and Karate Dojo! My favorite though is on Old Galveston Road - a tacqeuria, washeteria (laundromat) and gun store! You can get lunch that will burn your asshole out, wash the skidmarks out of your shorts, and buy a pistol all in one stop LOL.

Yeah but I dont notice any more. The fumes have burned my nose out to the point where I dont even smell it anymore... LOL Actually, Pasadena is a great place - the cradle of domestic help for the rest of the Bay area. Without Pasadena I would have to do <gasp> manual labor!!!

Funny story though, the other day I was in a gas station on Spencer in lovely LaPorte and some guy with Wisconsin plates, a stetson and the biggest buckle you ever saw asked me where to find Gilley's. I told him to hop in his time machine and go back to before it burned down LOL. (Actually it has reopened in Dallas and the sign is across from skillets in Deer Park) Ya know people, PLEASE dont use a 25 year old Texas tourism guide, we do have new ones available LOL

D.A. if I came down there wearing my Stetson like in my picture I'd be called , "all hat and no cattle" right?

Which leads to another "Texas question", where are all the really Big cattle ranches?
I used to have a Ford F-150 "King Ranch" that was named after; "the famous "King Ranch" in Texas according to the promotional material in my owners manual.
Where's that at?
