Well, we can't have that kind of lunacy....homosexuals running rampant and all....

Seriously....what the fuck is wrong with these people who want the world to be a particular way...honest to God....I truly don't get it...why do "they" even care.  

Last time I checked....that stuff has been going on for at least 3 - 4 weeks (possibly even longer)....and nothing's broken down yet....

Okay, now hold on here for a second....this is new information to me....I din't know that....

Are you telling me that gay and homosexual people would do that?

I've heard some shit about gay men going in to schools and teaching little boys how to be gay...interspersed with math, social sciences and all that....because if THAT's what's going on....well....I damn well want to express my Republican leanings...and we ain't gonna have any of THAT shit!!!!

It's utterly cynical, and calculated.

Ahem.  I don't see a good reason to ban gay marriage on a purely objective equal-rights basis.  Either you have to give equal rights to everyone, or you're not doing it; if you create exclusionary social apparati, that doesn't work.  Not allowing gay marriage but allowing civil unions will fare about as well as the separate but equal doctrine.  Not allowing gay marriage at all will eventually fare about as well as slavery (the institutionalized racist kind, before I get anyone excited!).

However, the comments about people using it as political mobilization tool are dead on.

That's why the judiciary's highest branches are not elected in this country.
