On this subject, I don't believe I was deliberately being obtuse. Yet you also have to fully realize and understand that for over 30 years I had to deal with this type of degradation which naturally has left me with being a mite over sensitive on this subject. I am sure that if our situations were reversed you'd act and react in much the same manner.
Part of the problem I do see in trying to have a civilized discussion in this area is because the religion isn't separate from the politics of human rights. And it is safe to state that whenever religion is added to the mix is when tempers get heated and people do become quite polarized in their opinions.
It is an unfortunate thing that most mainstream religious groups view homosexuality as a sin against God. Yet on the other hand, other valid religious groups do accept homosexuality such as: Pagans, Wiccans, Native Spirituality, Druids, etc. Granted some will say the examples I stated aren't true religions but that is a debate I will refuse to get into.
Yet until such time that mankind is able to offer concrete proof that "God" exists to the satisfaction of every single human on this planet, then we can not state that the union of a man and a man is a sin against God. Wouldn't it be the best option to actually hear that from "God" himself/herself directly? It just makes more sense to myself to place more belief and validity in hearing it directly instead of reading it from a book.
